NEWS & EVENTS. Christa Corrigan McAuliffe (1948-1986) grew up in Framingham and attended Marian High School. As a child, Christa was intrigued with space exploration and the Apollo Project. She received a BA degree from Framingham State College and an MEd from Bowie State College. She was a regular patron of the Saxonville Library, which was renamed in her honor in 1987. Here is why the Framingham Library Trustees applied for a 2010-2011 Construction Grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) (which was provisionally granted in 2012):. NEWS & EVENTS. On May 1, 2013, Framingham Town Meeting approved by a 149-1 vote the town’s portion of the funding for the new McAuliffe Branch Library. On July 11, 2013, the Town purchased the land for the new branch on Water Street. On March 6, 2014, the Planning Board approved the plan for the project.
