Build Like A Boss: How to attend a Lego convention
http://www.buildlikeaboss.com/2015/07/how-to-attend-lego-convention.html
Wednesday, July 1. How to attend a Lego convention. Lego Conventions are awesome. You get a few days to hang out with other builders and Lego fans. You can walk up to a random person at a convention with the most obscure Lego-related problem, and they will understand what you're talking about. Kindred spirits. I've attended BrickCon Seatle 2013, BrickFair NJ 2014, BrickWorld Chicago 2015 and BrickFair VA 2012, 2013 and 2014. Not as many as some people, but enough to thoroughly understand the basics.

Build Like A Boss: All Bricks are Good Bricks.
http://www.buildlikeaboss.com/2015/07/all-bricks-are-good-bricks.html
Wednesday, July 15. All Bricks are Good Bricks. We in the Lego community tend to meaninglessly separate ourselves from eachother, mostly into System, Bionicle and Technic builders. However, It's all Lego, and while TLG themselves might only be using that pallet of bricks for one particular thing, nothing is stopping you from combining them. I was over the moon with myself for managing to use just 3 Bionicle. Elements in a build recently, because the effect is so great. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Build Like A Boss: The Battle for the Gold Mask

Sunday, December 21. The Battle for the Gold Mask. The finalists in the Battle for the Gold Mask have been announced on ReBrick. Each with a surprisingly insightful paragraph describing its design and appeal. It's definitely worth a look. I think the judges did a good job, and the classic Bionicle awesomeness of the entries is a pleasure to see. Labels: Collaborations and Challenges. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Got a hot tip? Build Like A Boss: October 2014
http://www.buildlikeaboss.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30. Letʻs Talk About System Hybrids. Thereʻs some very strange arguments within the community about purism (not cutting bricks, painting, or modifying them in any way), and then thereʻs the Bionicle community. The man behind the series of Bio-System MOCs that make me wish I had the patience/skill to build with the two types of parts. The first example below would make Purists, Bionicle or not, shudder with a sort of disgusted delight. Onuta features a mask hand-painted by Modalt Masks.
