Bricks Without Straw Enterprises: February 2009

http://brickswithoutstrawenterprises.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Bricks Without Straw Enterprises. Saturday, February 28, 2009. I know. I'm an intermittent blogger at best. I have no desire to document my life in knitting. I merely wish to make a few records to share of the knitting in my life. and there's been precious little of that! The most recent project in my busy life (teaching and a toddler doesn't allow for much time to create anything other than a living.) has been some simple mittens. The first request was for a pie. Some lady in my life is going to end up ...

Bricks Without Straw Enterprises: June 2008

http://brickswithoutstrawenterprises.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Bricks Without Straw Enterprises. Friday, June 27, 2008. These Needles for Hire! Everyone who knits anywhere near me has had an earful of me and my “Yarn Diet”. I might should oughta cool off about it, right? Well… I will eventually, but last night I received a “squeaky wheel” boon from the yarn gods. My fingers have been yearning to work some lacework with (Blue Sky) alpaca silk ever since it came into the shop! Would I REALLY ever actually WEAR the gorgeous product of such an experience? Summer Vacatio...

Bricks Without Straw Enterprises: March 2009

http://brickswithoutstrawenterprises.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Bricks Without Straw Enterprises. Monday, March 30, 2009. Well I am quite proud. Earlier this month I completed a present for Sam which I've had on the needles for quite a while. It's been really something to get things finished, lately. I'm looking to summer. By Ruth Homrighaus is an adorable, affordable (free pattern and done with inexpensive cotton sportweight) project! As you can see Sam loves it:. He even named it! He took one look at it and hugged it. Happily crying "Bubbles! How cute is that?

Bricks Without Straw Enterprises: The Knit Nook "Beer Summit" 2009

http://brickswithoutstrawenterprises.blogspot.com/2009/07/knit-nook-beer-summit-2009.html

Bricks Without Straw Enterprises. Friday, July 31, 2009. The Knit Nook "Beer Summit" 2009. Every knitter loves their LYS (Local Yarn Store). I am no exception. Is quite the yarn haven! You should definitely make a visit if and when you find yourself in Louisville, KY. Please note fabulous tshirt design by SteigerBeat. I got a wild hair yesterday to celebrate the occurrence of the most wonderfully sensible-yet-ridiculous "Beer Summit". By having our own at the S and B. August 1, 2009 at 1:00 PM.

skein: Dogs on Thursday

http://intheskeinofthings.blogspot.com/2009/10/dogs-on-thursday_22.html

Thursday, October 22, 2009. I have a furry toddler at my house! Can't take my eyes off of him, he puts stuff in his mouth and is constantly bugging the other two. Instead of having to drive him around to get him settled, Olivia and I had to take him for a walk at 11:45 last night. This past Monday he weighed 24.4 lbs. That is a gain of a little over 3 lbs in one week. This is what happens when big dogs play with the baby's toy. October 23, 2009 at 7:38 AM. Yep The one SMALLER than the duck! Hi,it's nice ...

http://intheskeinofthings.blogspot.com/2009/10/dogs-on-thursday-more-birthday.html

Thursday, October 29, 2009. Dogs on Thursday and more birthday. Happy Birthday to my girl! She bought this jacket with a gift card and birthday money. I looked out the window yesterday and the three of them were curled up together on the front porch of the playhouse. Mimi made this hat (needle felted) for Olivia's birthday. Angus is 12 weeks old now. I weighed him this past Monday and he is up to 27 lbs. October 29, 2009 at 3:40 PM. That pup just keeps getting cuter. October 29, 2009 at 5:01 PM. My child...

Friday, June 26, 2009. Awhile back I won a blog contest. Here is a pic of the wonderful goodies that were my prize. Yes, that is Creatively Dyed yarn. Thank you so much Chan. Here are two cloths that I have finished. They are both for soap and cloth swaps on Ravelry. I have some really nice cloths that have been sent to me. Some knitters from Tuesday night knitting. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. It is so hard to explain something like this to kids. Both Alex and Eli had become very attached to the bird. Wednes...

http://intheskeinofthings.blogspot.com/2009/11/dogs-on-thursday_19.html

Thursday, November 19, 2009. Angus is 34 lbs now, growing like a weed. In this picture they are looking at John holding some treats. It is not nearly as crazy as I thought it would be with three dogs. They give as much (if not more) joy than sorrow. It can get really loud when they all start barking and sometimes they run crazy thru the house, sliding and crashing into tables, chairs and curio cabinets. When the rowdiness gets too much I tell them to "take it outside". November 20, 2009 at 8:04 AM. Subsc...

Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Happy Birthday to me! Grandma Joy made me a chocolate cake. This evening my sister kept all three kids while John and I went out to Olive Garden for dinner. I will have some pics and things for you later. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Here are a few stages of the moon flower opening. It was very cool to watch the progress. I think it took about 30 minutes. My brother Jason and his lovely wife, Becca. My little sister had a birthday! Thursday, July 23, 2009. Thursday, July 16, 2009.

http://intheskeinofthings.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 3, 2009. Angus is 4 months old now and he weighs 40 lbs. He is so adorable and is as sweet natured as he is cute. Starsky is sitting in the chair hoping for a treat. Eli is holding Billy Cooke. Billy is one of the studio pets, he stayed with us over the long Thanksgiving weekend. It was a little hare raising keeping him safe around the three dogs. Angus is intently watching Billy, not sure if he wants to play with him or eat him. I came into the bedroom the other day and saw this.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Sarcasm-(from the Greek sarkazein. To tear flesh) a taunting or caustic remark, generally ironic. Snide- slyly malicious or derisive. Derisive- to laugh at in scorn; ridicule. We all know what these words mean. As adults we probably use sarcasm with each other ever day. I could be crowned the queen of sarcasm and quick comebacks. I am not expecting a 5 th. Grade teacher to be as kind, gentle and loving as a kindergarten teacher, but if dealing with all of the students then you shou...

Thursday, November 12, 2009. This is Zeus, he came over to play with his brother Angus. They had lots of fun together. Zeus was a little leery of Starsky tho. It was hilarious to see them together. Two silly little puppies, almost the exact same size. Angus was last weighed on Nov. 4th, he was 30 lbs. Puppy snarls are so funny, pretending to be big bad dogs. I love this picture. Two happy girls with their puppies. Have to keep reminding myself that he is only 3 and a half months old. Zeus is a cutie pie!
