Culture of Love: May 2011
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Wow, it's been a while since I wrote a post here. Actually, it feels like I've been holding my breath for the past 5 months and it has been hard to concentrate on anything other than, will my husband be here for the birth of our child? It has been a difficult road, being separated like this in such a vulnerable time. But I have had such an incredible support network of friends and family. I am so thankful for them! Culture of Love: March 2011
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Friday, March 18, 2011. This song makes me think of me and Patrick right now trying to make ends meet across oceans. Love K'naan's music and what he writes about! Thursday, March 17, 2011. I haven't really documented this particular pregnancy journey so far.well, here's a few things from the past couple days. Heightened sense of smell: as in, I can smell the guy who didn't wash his hair sitting next to me or the guy who had lots of green beer today.ugh! I've hear...

Culture of Love: Is It Enough?
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2013/02/is-it-enough.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Sunday, February 03, 2013. Depression is all around me. I am not myself by definition "depressed" although I have reason to be and definitely experience moments or days of darkness. Doesn't everyone? And when I'm tired of trying, and I see them slipping farther and farther from me, I am tempted to back away myself. Because my biggest fear, is that depression will win, and I will lose them. I love you. I love you. I love you. Denizen of the deep. Watermark templat...

Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Monday, May 25, 2015. Dreamers Vs. Reality. Is it something I must learn? I am always looking for what's ahead, something better, brighter, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the utopia. Ha ha ha.I have always been and will always be a dreamer. I am adept at hiding my dreaminess though. ;) I use sarcasm and cynicism to protect myself from the harsh blows of.REALITY. Oh God! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Words That Stand Out. Culture of Love: Making Progress and Happy New Year
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2013/01/making-progress-and-happy-new-year.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Saturday, January 05, 2013. Making Progress and Happy New Year. Well, it has been quite a long time since I posted here. I've been thinking of things I'd like to post but they seem to get all jumbled up in my heart as one big SIGH of wordless emotion. Do you ever get the feeling, that your heart is a dam about to burst? I need an outlet, so I thought I'd start by writing again. It's always helped in the past. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Culture of Love: July 2012
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Monday, July 16, 2012. A Love Letter To My Body. I was inspired (well, always inspired actually) by a friend who writes the most beautiful, touching, moving posts on her blog, exile fertility. To join in a synchroblog topic on loving our bodies through a letter. It was started by shelovesmagazine. I've never even heard of synchroblogging before and it's been ages since I wrote anything here and I love this topic so I'm in! Here is my love letter to my body. I am ...

Culture of Love: April 2014
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Friday, April 25, 2014. How about today you stay off Facebook. I gave up Facebook for Lent this year and it was tough because I was kind of addicted. (Ok, really addicted). But I was glad I did it, because it created space in my life for other more important things: reading my Bible, connecting with my daughter, exercise, rest! Culture of Love: Growing Pains
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2013/05/growing-pains.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Tuesday, May 28, 2013. What an exhausting roller coaster ride of a day. In the blink of an eye, my dear baby girl has fully emerged into toddlerhood and while I'm excited to see her learning and growing so much, I myself feel the growing pains! I have to adapt to this new stage of development and I feel the squeeze! Well, how would I know? I said, "no hitting, ok? Oh sweet relief came at naptime! I applauded and shouted, 'Yay! I was indeed, very proud of her....

Culture of Love: July 2011
http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Thursday, July 07, 2011. I keep recalling one step of Ang Tulay (The Bridge) which is FEARS and WORRIES and the painting we put up of a girl, wringing her hands, deep in thought, wondering "WHAT IF." That's me. I am full of "what if's.". At that step, we asked children to write down their fears and worries on a piece of paper, then they could share with the group if they wanted, and finally, we went together as a group to burn them after releasing them to God.

http://nicolecmaciver.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-sun-is-shining-sky-is-blue.html
Livin' and lovin' in Africa (and Canada). Tuesday, May 14, 2013. The sun is shining; the sky is blue. The leaves are slowly unfolding, bringing colour and fullness to the trees. I am a little lighter, a little more hopeful and breathing more deeply. My babe is sleeping better with all that pure sunshine running through her body. We have stepped out of our hibernation. Stretch, yawn, turn your face to the sun. Welcome Spring! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Words That Stand Out.
