Bridge Cities

A Portland girl in Magyarország. The possibilities are endless! Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Curious what I've been up to these days? Well, my parents (mom especially) liked this blog so much that she felt out of the loop when I got home from Budapest and wasn't blogging publicly any more. So I started up a new one. A Little Something for Everyone. A little crafting, a little creative writing, a little music, a little religion, and a whole lot of "wow that Jessie girl sure is weird". Home again, home again.

Bridge Cities: November 2007

http://www.bridgecities.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

A Portland girl in Magyarország. The possibilities are endless! Sunday, November 25, 2007. This weekend was full of delicious food, fantastic people, and exciting experiences. Yay, adjectives! Wednesday night was not at all good; drinking, personal (boy) problems, and not enough sleep are the three things that sum up the entire experience. I crashed at Bruce's, but didn't get to sleep until 4 and then woke up at 7:30 Thursday morning, unable to get back to sleep. It's a Thanksgiving miracle! Euchre is li...

Bridge Cities: October 2007

http://www.bridgecities.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

A Portland girl in Magyarország. The possibilities are endless! Sunday, October 28, 2007. Halloween, BSM style! Last night a group of people held a progressive Halloween party, called the Yellow Line Progressive (since all the people hosting lived along the Yellow Line). Since it was a bunch of math majors, you KNOW there were some terribly nerdy costumes. Dan and Joe went as a bijection. I think it was my favorite math costume. Hello my name is F(U), Hello my name is U. All the math jokes! I am (current...

Bridge Cities: And I saw that the ringing was coming from your throat

http://www.bridgecities.blogspot.com/2007/12/and-i-saw-that-ringing-was-coming-from.html

A Portland girl in Magyarország. The possibilities are endless! Sunday, December 16, 2007. And I saw that the ringing was coming from your throat. This time next week I will be back in Oregon. This last week has gone by so fast. I've started making friends with people I've barely talked to through this whole program and now I only have a week left to hang out with them. And also for cookie! Friday afternoon I hung out with Haggai and Dan, then went to Voula's for pancakes and applesauce and Grave of the ...

Bridge Cities: Mikulás!

http://www.bridgecities.blogspot.com/2007/12/mikuls.html

A Portland girl in Magyarország. The possibilities are endless! Thursday, December 6, 2007. In Hungary (and many other places in Europe) Santa (Mikulás, a distortion of Miklos, which is the Hungarian version of Nicholas) doesn't come on Christmas eve. He comes the night of December 5th and leaves little presents in your shoes, and then Christmas eve family presents are exchanged. More on Mikulás here. Today is the day Kate gets here! And it's Voula's birthday! Two problems with deciding to audit:.

A Little Something For Everyone. Saturday, June 27, 2009. I'm not sure if anyone could have guessed, but I sort of gave up on jogging. My hip kept giving me grief, and then I got out of the habit for a couple days and then. well, that was a month ago. We'll see what happens in the future, but for now. yeah. Lazy butt. Still doing OCM, not quite daily, (more like every fourth daily? And my skin seems to be enjoying it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. OPB music - LISTEN.

Monday, September 27, 2010. Daring Bakers: Leaf Cookies. The September 2010 Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Mandy of “ What the Fruitcake? 8221; Mandy challenged everyone to make Decorated Sugar Cookies based on recipes from Peggy Porschen and The Joy of Baking. She told us to make sugar cookies that represent September. You can find the recipes she gave us to work with here. The theme for the cookies was easy - fall leaves. I have a couple of leaf cookie cutters (and an acorn!

Roaming and Rambling: April 2010

http://szera.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 26, 2010. SO…that's why I tell you to keep your eyes wide. Keep them wide open…at least on one side.". You never know what you might find if you do. And sometimes it pays to take a closer look, this. Could turn out to be. Oh, and yes, I /am/ looking at you. Tuesday, April 20, 2010. But not the kind you tend to eat. Here is mamma (I assume) robin sitting on her nest. Some lovely flowers from the courtyard of my building. And a reminder that I do still live in the middle of a city. BSM) progr...

Thursday, December 24, 2009. Merry Christmas from Canada. These first three pictures are from a local park. We also took a drive up the Sea to Sky Highway towards Whistler and stopped at several points along the way:. A couple of attempts at panoramic pictures (I'm having trouble getting them to format any bigger without getting blurry on this page. You can click them to get a bigger version):. Roaming and Rambling: June 2010

http://szera.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 27, 2010. I recently joined the Daring Kitchen community. It is a group of people who like to cook and bake and every month challenge each other to make something that people are likely to find unusual and/or challenging. Pavlova is a dessert from Australia and New Zealand. The particular recipe we were told to use is apparently slightly non-traditional, but it is delicious regardless. Step 1: Chocolate Meringues. 3 large egg whites. 189; cup plus 1 tbsp white granulated sugar. From cream wi...

A Little Something For Everyone: May 2009

A Little Something For Everyone. Sunday, May 31, 2009. I am undergoing several experiments at the moment. 2) Oil cleansing method - OCM. I have never had problem skin, and I'm not a big fan of talking about beauty procedures in public forums (besides hair dying. that's different! But I read something online recently about the Oil Cleansing Method for face washing and I was intrigued. Here are the steps:. Rub this mixture on your face. Rub in the oil again. Rinse face with cold water to close pores. I sti...

A Little Something For Everyone: March 2009

http://jessie-pink.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

A Little Something For Everyone. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Other reasons for visiting were to see my friend Bruce, who was one of my best friends in Budapest, and to see Rob's Aunt Margaret and Uncle Brad who live just outside of Boulder. We got in Wednesday afternoon, hung out with Bruce in Denver on Saturday, and went to Boulder on Sunday. First, allow me to introduce Joaquin. He likes bananas and when people say his name. My sister and Joaquin. A close up of the sheep and the blanket. And many thanks...
