                        BridgeWay Journals: May 7th 2012
http://bridgewayjournals.blogspot.com/2012/05/may-7th-2012.html
Monday, May 7, 2012. Did Jesus keep the Oral Law? Read Mark 3:1-6 and journal your thoughts. Notice in how Jesus asks this question about whether it’s keeping God’s Law if someone heals on the Sabbath? Jesus never touches the man. He heals him with his words. Have you ever wondered why sometimes Jesus heals with a touch and other times with just his words? Every time Jesus heals with his words it falls on the Sabbath (with one debatable exception I dare you to find it). Jesus is keeping the Oral Law.

Thursday, May 10, 2012. May 10th, 2012. Have you ever read the story of Jonah and asked yourself the question; why did he run? We expect this from some people, but a prophet of God? In order to help us to better understand this story, we are going to be spending a week in chapter one looking at how chapter sets up the rest of the story. Read Jonah 1 especially verses 1-3 and journal some thoughts. As you read these 3 small verses, do you get the feeling that you’re missing something? These are the type o...

http://bridgewayjournals.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 16, 2012. NOTE: This will be the last journal entry for awhile. What does this story have to say to us in our lives? Read Jonah 1 and journal some thoughts. Does this sound familiar? Does this at times remind you of the pattern that God works in our lives today? May you come to understand that God has bigger things planned for you than you could imagine, and may you see that the storms of life are God’s way of bringing you into that plan. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. To put it another way, why d...

BridgeWay Journals: May 13th 2012
http://bridgewayjournals.blogspot.com/2012/05/may-13th-2012.html
Sunday, May 13, 2012. When we run from God, how does He draw us back to Him? Read Jonah 1, especially verses 4-5. Storms really get a bad rap sometimes, don’t they? Traditionally we tend to view storms as God’s way of punishing us or getting back at us from something we’ve done. There are even people out there who try to find a cause behind every major catastrophe in our world. They may say that God sent this tornado because of this sin in their state, or in their country. Ramblin' Reed: Unacceptable Worship
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2013/08/lifestyle-worship-part-2-unacceptable.html
Monday, August 26, 2013. If your car starts once every three tries, is it reliable? If the postman skipped delivery every Monday and Thursday, is he trustworthy? If you don’t go to work once or twice a month, are you a reliable employee? If your fridge stops working for a day or two every now and then, do you say, “Oh well, it work most of the time.”? If your water heater provides an icy cold shower every now and then, is it dependable? Worship of false gods, worship of God that is created to suit our de...
Ramblin' Reed: What is Biblical Worship and are we doing it?
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2013/08/what-is-biblical-worship-and-are-we.html
Monday, August 19, 2013. What is Biblical Worship and are we doing it? Over this past week I had the privilege of leading a conference on worship up at the Family Retreat. As I prepared I received a stronger and stronger prompting to bring this subject to the attention of our congregational body. I bring this topic before you because I believe many churches and many believers have lost the true meaning of worship. Are we worshiping God. For the full message shared on 08-18-13 at. Ramblin' Reed: April 2013
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 29, 2013. The Lord's Prayer - Pt.1. Lord, Teach us to pray.". That was their request, "Teach us to pray." Do we ask that of our Savior? No, but perhaps we should. Instead we go about the task of praying as if rubbing a bottle and expecting a genie to grant our every whim, or we view it as grueling and tiresome. More of a requirement than the privilege it is. Prayer is unfortunately an area where many believers are weak and in need of instruction. "Lord, teach us to pray.". Could you use som...
Ramblin' Reed: Choose to Serve the Lord
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2013/06/choose-to-serve-lord.html
Monday, June 3, 2013. Choose to Serve the Lord. I wish to thank my good friend Osmar Aguilar for filling in for me while I was away attending my daughter's wedding. Osmar is the Executive Director of YFC (Youth for Christ) in SE Wisconsin. I have had the opportunity to experience his passion for seeing Christ glorified in the ministry of reaching teens for Christ. As he came to FCOG-Racine, he challenged us to "Choose to Serve the Lord.". For the full message shared on 06-02-13 at. First Church of God.

Ramblin' Reed: March 2013
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 25, 2013. Stories capture our attention. Look at how we spend hours upon hours in social media reading or enjoying the stories told regarding friends and family. Before the days of MySpace, Facebook, and other medias people spoke face to face. In this story the father represents God; the Prodigal represents defiant sinners, who eventually in humility come to the father seeking repentance and forgiveness; and the Eldest Son, who represents those seeking to earn their way to heaven through wo...
Ramblin' Reed: February 2013
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 25, 2013. Passion for the Lost. Have you ever given much thought to what you are passionate about? It could be photography, paint or sculpture; perhaps singing or playing an instrument, or sports. I don't know your passion, but I do know mine. God has placed within me a passion to counsel. I love to listen to the issues and problems of those I come in contact with and then as God leads provide a Biblical response to their plight. What are the implications? First Church of God. Passion fo...
Ramblin' Reed: November 2012
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 26, 2012. I AM the Way and theTruth and the Life. I'm curious. What do you believe? More specifically, in Whom do you believe? There are many schools of thought regarding this topic. Some encourage that you believe in yourself and your ability to do good. Others espouse the idea of believing in karma, what goes around comes around. There is even the idea to believe that the prayers of others will change your eternal destiny after you die. And you know the way where I am going.”. If you c...
Ramblin' Reed: Unity of the Body: Walking Worthy of the Call
http://ramblin-reed.blogspot.com/2013/06/unity-of-body-walking-worthy-of-call.html
Monday, June 10, 2013. Unity of the Body: Walking Worthy of the Call. Therefore as a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit— just as you were called to one hope when you were called—. One Lord, one faith, one baptism;. For the full message shared on 06-09-13 at.

Bridgeway 2009 Kentucky Trip
Bridgeway 2009 Kentucky Trip. Events of the Kentucky Trip. March 19, 2009. This will be a fast post because we are all trying to pack to get an early start in the morning. Summation of the day:. Raking and general brush cleanup (see Natalie's pictures). Campus projects all completed except fence staining (see picture). We had a final "family time" where we answered the question: What will we take home from this trip? The committment of the "sold-out" missionaries we heard from here. Playing with the kids.
