Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Room With A View. While most people would perfer to have a seaside view, I am quite happy with my view of the trees. Each morning, I have visitors on my balcony. They swing in from the trees and just stop on the railing, observing and playing. They stick around for a few minutes and then jump away again. Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Merry Christmas everyone, eat some candy canes for me! Ooh, don't you think it's a pretty good plan. All I want for Christmas is a real good tan.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011. I found this clip last week, when my new blog idea had yet to exist. This cover of Home is one of the most heart warming things I have ever seen! I am assuming the father / daughter team practiced quite a bit before it was filmed but, wow, that little girl is amazing. I am a huge fan of. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. And Home is a great song. Major applause for. The clip as 2 million hits, check it out and give them a few more. I bet you can't watch this just once!

Originally, this blog started as a travel update for all my friends and family while I was traveling during the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-09. I'll be traveling again with the next race (and a bit before), but that does not start until October 2011, which is a REALLY long time to go without posting. The list is endless. Friday, January 23, 2009. So I have been traveling since October, I haven't been home since Thanksgiving and I have come to realize a few things. 1 I carry far too much luggage. This isn't really my fault. I am traveling from tropical to freezing, plus carrying a bag of sailing gear around. Reminder to self.stay in one climate! That being said, airport porters are very useful, sometimes expensive, but very helpful, use them whenever possible. 5 Fresh flowers in a hotel room are a wonderful surprise.
