I Hate This Blog: 04/01/2011 - 05/01/2011
http://hatethisblog.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 24, 2011. My expectations for this production were very high. And in some manner, they were met. Shaping this piece to match the marathon play was a delicate balance, Ali built on the previous direction, leading me to be less ponderous, and more immediate. To wit; go faster. Some people cannot handle this. There is a critic in town whose job, ostensibly, would anyone actually pay him for it, would arguably have a responsibility to come see this award-winning production and grant his opinion...

I Hate This Blog: Theater Professionals Night
http://hatethisblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/theater-professionals-night.html
Monday, April 11, 2011. A few years ago Cleveland joined the ranks of those theater communities that provide Monday night performances for the benefit of those actors who are busy every other night of the week. Monday is Actors' Equity day off. It's also a good way of adding a "cheap night" to the run. Tickets tonight are only $10. And from Two Gents. I already hear Tim out there. That by itself is a good sign. Good Lord, it's like the GLTF Actor-Teacher. Retirement home out there. What is up with THAT.

I Hate This Blog: Day Eleven: Lurgan - Cottaging*
http://hatethisblog.blogspot.com/2007/06/day-eleven-lurgan-cottaging.html
Monday, June 18, 2007. Day Eleven: Lurgan - Cottaging*. Sorry for missing an entry yesterday, it was a big, big travel day with no internet at the end of it. We left Birmingham via air to Belfast. I am pleased and amazed at how well the seven of us have been coping, shipping from city to city like this. I am only slightly disappointed I don't get to see as much. Last night Toni and I got some basics from the market, and we all sat about, cooking, drinking, cleaning (I broke a glass) eating and just relax...

I Hate This Blog: What's On David's iPod?
http://hatethisblog.blogspot.com/2004/08/whats-on-davids-ipod.html
Tuesday, August 17, 2004. What's On David's iPod? A long distance dedication, going out to the one I love. Awwwww yeah.). Notes from the Fringe: Day Four. It feels as though we have been here forever. And yet, only today has the Fringe truly begun for us. Okay, okay, let's move on. This morning I ran the reservoir. Me and a million others, it was liberating, actually engaging in exercise, I don't think I have ever done that in New York. Not just walking, but running. My entire body thanked me. Brian warn...

I Hate This Blog: Life is but a dream.
http://hatethisblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/life-is-but-dream.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Life is but a dream. So I went to see the Kids in the Hall. Last night. That’s my little joke. I have been sharing the make-up room with the cast of Fever/Dream. Which is playing the Gordon Square. I work with these people, or have done, or I just met them. Most are well-younger than I am, except for the two really old guys. An adaptation of Calderon’s Life Is A Dream. Labels: Cleveland Public Theatre. Did we all get that? It will be on the test. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

I Hate This Blog: The Fringe Is Now Open
http://hatethisblog.blogspot.com/2003/08/fringe-is-now-open-damn-what-long-day.html
Saturday, August 02, 2003. The Fringe Is Now Open. Damn, what a long day. It began much too early, shortly after midnight, with Zelda waking up, and thinking it was playtime. I spent an hour or so walking her up and down Denny's long, hardwood hallways, or pushing her around the apartment in the stroller. Nick and I ripped out of there when it was over and handed postcards to. In this sold-out crowd. People really dig the cards. First off, it wasn't just me, some others who were signed up dropped out, an...

I Hate This Blog: Three Gents
http://hatethisblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/three-gents.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. I have to look at this picture a lot. There’s lots of plays going on, Excuse me for whining about lackluster ticket sales. I always do that. It comes with performing plays about stillbirth. I had a co-worker tell me to my face, “I can’t see your show.” I said I understand, we’re all busy. She emphasized, “No … I can’t see it.”. A number of the shows which opened with mine are closing at the same time. Last week I caught a matinee of The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Then there’s...
