Documenting our journey through our not-so-"silent years." Matthew 4:19. Who We Are Today. Life is What We Make of It. To Infertility and Beyond. Posted in Labels: Humility. I am deep into a summer bible study with two of my best girlfriends, called Ruth. Today's portion was about humility. If you read Ruth 2:13 " 'May I continue to find favor in your eyes, my lord. NIV) Please focus your mind on the fact that she had LESS standing than a servant. Ouch. Does anything else strike you? The author of the st...

Documenting our journey through our not-so-"silent years." Matthew 4:19. Who We Are Today. Life is What We Make of It. To Infertility and Beyond. Posted in Labels: Devotionals. Well The greatest time of year is finished, we're officially in hibernation-hustle where there's a lot to be done but we're not getting out of our PJ's to do them. I'll be honest. I couldn't find the spirit of Christmas this year. It was here for a fleeting moment, (see this post. This is what the LORD says:. That I am the LORD, w...

Learning to Know: Learning to Confess
http://jeffreyworth.blogspot.com/2011/11/learning-to-confess.html
Saturday, November 19, 2011. I must confess something. It was not Brigette who killed our fish. it was I. But I believe Brigette is complicit for giving me the bowl to clean. Apparently, I didn't give the water conditioner enough time to work before returning them to their bowl. They kinda went crazy trying to get out, then turned over dead. I don't believe they suffered, it was over fast. However, God has comforted me in knowing that I will not have to clean out that bowl again. Ever. Check out her blog!

I'm not exactly sure how to start this one. Except to say that God is good. How good? REAL good. It's refreshing and uplifting to be reminded in only a way that the One who knows us inside-and-out, upside-down, good, bad, ugly, and between - can do. I'm striving in my personal walk with the Lord for authenticity. Was nowhere in sight.

This week I was blessed by a lunch with my sweet friend and kindred spirit: Candace Evans. While there are many, MANY pearls of wisdom that come from Candace (she is a Godly woman wise beyond her years), she had a simple statement that I can't stop thinking about:. I think everyone has something like kryptonite. Well that's exactl...

Learning to Know: Learning to Share
http://jeffreyworth.blogspot.com/2011/11/learning-to-share.html
Wednesday, November 16, 2011. I’ve been encouraged, by my sweet wife, to begin blogging. I’ve struggled with this for a long time because I have a lot to say but don’t really think people care to hear it. Frankly, I don’t blame them. What do I have to say that hasn’t already been said? But in an effort to better articulate and process what God is teaching me, I will blog. That’s the main reason I’ve entitled it, “Learning to Know.”. This word is used in some form 220 times throughout the New Testament.

Learning to Know: Comfort During Pain
http://jeffreyworth.blogspot.com/2011/11/comfort-during-pain.html
Saturday, November 19, 2011. Well, we got the final word on Thursday; we will not get to meet a little blessing in nine months. Brigette took the news very well though! Through her faith during this time I was taught by her the application of Romans 12:12, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”. The girl was constant in prayer; never ceasing to rejoice in the hope that we have in Christ Jesus. Hope for life. (John 14:6, 11:25.). Are you kidding me! The gospel is so good!

Be Thou exalted over my reputation. 8216;Cause applause is a poor form of soul medication. And I’ve tried it for years but my symptoms remain. Still fretting the day that they’ll misplace my name. Still selling my soul for American fame. Treating the promotion of Jesus like a well oiled machine. Advancing His kingdom just to snag some acclaim. So what to do now?
