Sunday Roast Review: The Bull & Last |
https://roastedsundays.wordpress.com/2010/02/07/sunday-roast-the-bull-last
Sunday Roast Review: The Bull & Last. February 7, 2010. The Bull and Last. Roast Beef, Roast Haunch of Roe Deer. As I mentioned before, the Bull and Last has a bloody great selection of real ales, I had 2 pints of the mighty Doombar (a cornish ale) but I could of had 30. Such a good pint, and not often that you see it around. There was also the Timothy Taylor landlord, although I can’t remember the others. Total Roasting: (8.4/10). 7 Responses to “Sunday Roast Review: The Bull & Last”. Bigger Picture Que...

Sunday Roast Review: The Crown |

Sunday Roast Review: The Crown. April 14, 2010. Roast Chicken, Lamb, Loin of Pork and Sirloin of Beef. They looked so perfect. Golden, crispy, and swimming in juice, and yet, when the fork slid through the beautiful layers of promise, it hit an impassable, indigestible, rock. Our dreams of finding a soft, fluffy, and luxuriously groomed core shattered like a pint glass in the face. It was clear that we were in the hands of some seriously committed Sunday roasters when the meat arrived. The luscious l...

Marking System |
https://roastedsundays.wordpress.com/our-marking-system
By completely deconstructing every element of the roast, we are able to translate each plate into an informative, working model of flavour, texture, temperature and aesthetics. Seasoning, tenderness, colour, thickness, temperature, presentation. Exterior crispiness, interior fluffiness, oiliness, colour, choice of potato, size of cut, temperature, presentation. Variety, colour, choice of veg, size of cut, temperature, presentation. Crispiness, colour, size, temperature, presentation. 10 Value for money.

Report: Hawksmoor, Covent Garden |

Report: Hawksmoor, Covent Garden. November 2, 2010. How barbaric, how carnivorous, how elegant, how sophisticated, how so very Hawksmoor. When we heard that our favourite. Our table of six arrives with great expectation at the quiet entrance to the restaurant, for a feast awaits. A polite greeter takes our coats and shows us downstairs to the stunning, wood paneled bar area, that has a perfect Manhattan speakeasy feel to it, with low desk lamps and high wooden bar stools. Drinks downed and muscles loosen...

Sunday Roast Review: The Alwyne |
https://roastedsundays.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/getyourroaston
Sunday Roast Review: The Alwyne. November 29, 2009. Beef, Pork, Chicken and Vegetarian. The roast itself is spot on. Giant massive cow leaps ahead of year ago, when the kitchen didn’t understand the meaning of hot food and insisted on serving the pork without crackling. These days expect a healthy serving of your meat or veg of choice, surounded by piles of carrots, neeps, cabbage, roast potatoes. 11 Responses to “Sunday Roast Review: The Alwyne”. Sunday Roast Review: The Paradise |
https://roastedsundays.wordpress.com/2010/10/26/sunday-roast-review-the-paradise
Sunday Roast Review: The Paradise. October 26, 2010. Pork belly ( 15.50), Goosenargh corn-fed chicken ( 14.50), Rib of beef ( 17.50), Rump of Lonk lamb ( 16). A Sunday roast is all about satisfaction. For Finn Renardo, that comes down to the meat. The tenderness of the beef. The snap of the pork crackling. The saltiness of the chicken skin. The juiciness of the lamb. Neil’s tut-tutting, Annahita’s sighing, Renardo’s grumbling, and me? I’m wondering where the hell my gravy is. We asked for an ex...Those t...

https://roastedsundays.wordpress.com/2010/11/25/sunday-roast-review-the-cadogan-arms
Sunday Roast Review: The Cadogan Arms. November 25, 2010. Whole / half roast free range Devonshire Bronze chicken ( 29, for two), Roast rump of British grass-fed beef ( 14.95), Roast leg of Herdwick lamb ( 14.95). Well The Cadogan Arms in London’s Chelsea was bloody, bloody, disappointing. No Burberry tablecloths, no white gloved servants, no silverware, no foie gras milkshakes or caviar cocktails, no Swarovski crystal potatoes. Not even, Roman Abramovich. Call this the Kings Road? And last Sunday, it wa...
