http://bht-heritage.org.uk/2014/12
Archive for December 2014. On Thursday November 20th five BHT clients participated in a workshop to learn the ancient craft of gilding. Clients learnt about the application of gold leaf in a heritage context and experimented with a range of materials and effects to create their own pieces. Once covered, we used brushes to remove the excess Gold and painted the back of the glass pane with black paint, to create an antique-effect mirror. Really good fun and informative! Useful for possible future projects.

Frank Hornby 150th Anniversary 1863-2013. Was an archetypal British success story. From modest beginnings, with no real schooling, by his mid-thirties Hornby had still achieved nothing especially notable in his career. Working as a clerk in a meat-packing factory and married with children, Hornby was a solid employee with no obvious signs of ambition. The secret of his success was a toy called Meccano.
