Wednesday, 24 June 2015. March 2015- Alpine Swift, YBW and RND. A lot of uninspiring 'patchworking' of multiple sites was very similar to the latter of last month. A Little Grebe. Remained on Patch on 1st. It was brightened up with a very unexpected site first at Parkes Hall Reservoir on 4th though, when a drake Shelduck. Was present. Tuesday, 28 October 2014. Usually when I go looking for Butterflies I like the solitary aspect, and I spent many hours this year walking around and stalking these dainty beauties. Local birding in halifax and just a bit of randomness thrown in for good measure. Thursday, 1 November 2012. Recent un-employment and no car means i am now having to stay very local! So decide to concentrate on southowram, using the parish boundry which is Red Beck in the east, River Calder to the south,the Hebble in the west and the A58 to the north, for ease i have ammended it slightly. Got to bed at 04:30 after doing the midnight walk for Overgate Hospice. 13 miles and we did it in 3 1/2 hours! Which is not bad. so a quick hotdog and home to bed.up at 9 and on the road at 10.
