the Overflowing Cup

Sunday, January 22, 2012. A new year has begun, and a new semester starts. Tomorrow starts my second semester in seminary at SWBTS. I'm excited to start back and to really dive in to my 7 hours of course (not much I know, but enough for now). I must admit that last semester was a little bumpy as I was transitioning into my new life, job, and school in Texas. But now I'm 100% ready and anxious to get started. Saturday, December 31, 2011. It's been a big year. How bout a quick recap of 2011, eh? Started jo...

the Overflowing Cup: August 2011

http://www.brimmingwithblessing.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 15, 2011. Texas: At Least the Sky is Bigger Here. So, I moved to Texas. Not on a whim or anything, so don't get excited. I moved here for school. I love it. Texas, that is. (School hasn't started yet.). Everyone knows the saying, "Everything is bigger in Texas." I think I know why they (the Texans) think this: the one thing that is undeniably bigger is the sky and perhaps that is why everything else seems to follow suit. Credit: granvillehouse.blogspot.com. In Plano, TX. That's about it fo...

the Overflowing Cup: Home For Christmas

http://www.brimmingwithblessing.blogspot.com/2011/12/home-for-christmas.html

Tuesday, December 27, 2011. So it's been a while since I've blogged - so long that my grandfather made sure to mention it to me a couple times before I left his house. Here you go, Granddaddy! Anywho - it's been a great holiday at home. Short, but great. I fly back to Texas tomorrow (Wednesday) and go back to work on Thursday. I'm excited to be back to my Texas friends (I miss you, J-High team! Well, it's getting late so I'll say peace out for now. Tomorrow I'll need to pack, figure out how I'm getti...

the Overflowing Cup: Roadtrip Chicago - Day Two

http://www.brimmingwithblessing.blogspot.com/2011/07/roadtrip-chicago-day-two.html

Sunday, July 3, 2011. Roadtrip Chicago - Day Two. Day two of our roadtrip was day one in the Windy City. With ambitious attitudes and willful hearts, we set out for the city at 8 in the morning. We found our train stop and rode the Metra into the city where we found her waiting for us, true to her name. Ada at "The Bean". Anyway, then we moved on to the gardens inside the park which were unexpectedly pleasant. Amber and Nicole in the Gardens. We ended the evening inside the 96th floor lounge of the John ...

this is my temporary home...: back to paradise

http://chelsey-temporaryhome.blogspot.com/2011/06/back-to-paradise.html

Friday, June 10, 2011. I should preface this blog with this: I have heard so many testimonies of ways that God has moved in people's lives. I have heard many people stand up and tell amazing stories that seem almost untrue because they are so unusual. And I never thought I would have one of those stories to tell.]. As some of you may know and as many of you are about to learn, the Lord has given me the desires of my heart and I will be returning to Heaven on Earth [that is, Haiti. Including Peninsula whe...

Tuesday, January 10, 2012. 22, #41, #84. 22 Go ice skating. After the fall semester wrapped up, I got to spend some quality time with friends and we planned some fun Christmas activities. For instance, a few friends and I got to go ice skating in Market Square and then we walked around and looked at all the lights downtown (and had a photoshoot). It was such a great way to start Christmas break! 41 Visit a friend. 84 Try something new. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Wednesday, September 11, 2013. And then I left Texas on an airplane bound for Tennessee, and neither of us had any idea what life had in store for us. Per his request, I texted him when I landed to let him know I made it safely, and he texted me back, and the conversation never stopped. I am moving to Plano, Texas on September 27th. Is this real life? Can't wait to tell you more as the story unfolds. Stay tuned :). September 11, 2013 at 7:37 PM. Eeeeek this gave me butterflies! So excited for you girl!

this is my temporary home...: his hands

http://chelsey-temporaryhome.blogspot.com/2013/12/his-hands.html

Friday, December 27, 2013. I met him in 2009, when we were still fresh out of the protection of our homes and just learning to sink or swim in the "real world.". His hands are gentle in a way that I cannot comprehend, in a way that makes me want to handle the people around me more carefully. They show love without overlooking sin, his hands know truth. His hands are calloused from working hard to do his best, at everything, always. Callouses from self discipline and self control that have pushed him ...

this is my temporary home...: about me.

http://chelsey-temporaryhome.blogspot.com/p/pictures.html

Well, lets see. These are the top 5 things you may want to/probably should know "about me". 1 I am completely in love with Jesus, and do my best to live each day striving to be as much like Him as possible. 2 I am 25 years old, the oldest of 5 kids, and from a small town in middle Tennessee. 4 I have a passion for loving the most unlovable, remembering the most forgotten, and serving the most seemingly undeserving people in the world. You can read the introduction to my blog here. History in the Making.

this is my temporary home...: bubble wrap and cardboard

http://chelsey-temporaryhome.blogspot.com/2014/08/bubble-wrap-and-cardboard.html

Saturday, August 9, 2014. Bubble wrap and cardboard. I said. He pushed further. "Whats that for anyway? And I responded, "Hmm. I don't know." So my sweet patient Daddy took the opportunity to teach me something new. He explained, "I bet cause there were so many kids there, the teacher couldn't remember all your names. So she put your name tag right where she could see it so that when she saw you finger painting she could read your name tag and say 'Chelsey! You're doing such a great job! Again, so patien...

Brimming with Excitement - Building Our Milan With Ryan Homes. Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Just a quick post to note that we were approved for our mortgage by NVR yesterday. So glad that it is one less thing that we need to worry about. Now to wait for the permits and the pre-construction meeting! I'm guessing that the pre-construction meeting won't be until the end of September based on what I'm seeing from others in my neighborhood. The next 8 weeks or so are going to be tough! Brimming with Hope

God still loves the world. Sunday, November 23, 2014. Hope this is a wonderful day for you. The message today is taken from chapter 12 of The Story. Of course, he just continued to stare innocently into my eyes. But I knew what he did. Little sneaky guy took what wasn't his and left the bag sitting there looking like it wasn't touched. It was there for the taking, so he took it. He was entitled. At least, that's what he believed. Why would he jeopardize his standing as king? Where are we in this story?
