The Salinas Family: Sledding
http://salinasva.blogspot.com/2014/03/sledding.html
Friday, March 7, 2014. With all the snow we have been getting lately, we headed over to the school to go sledding on some great hills. They have several and each one offers something fun. The boys had a blast. I even took a few turns! It brought back many memories of spending ALL DAY outside sledding with family and friends when I was a kid. Some good memories were made! Here are two videos from our day. This is Anthony going backwards. I had no idea such a hill existed! Well have to go with you next time.

The Salinas Family: May 2013
http://salinasva.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 17, 2013. This was a good snow day. I was a happy and proud mom. Diego stepped up and shoveled our steps and even went to the neighbors a couple doors down to shovel hers. This was all before he even went off to play. He is growing up! Then the day took a turn. While sledding Diego ran into a thorn bush! Never mind that he was on the bottom of the sled,. Christian on top of him and the neighbor boy on top of Christian). This is the result. After a shower and some neosporin,. You made a paper ...

The Salinas Family: Hiking
http://salinasva.blogspot.com/2013/11/hiking.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. On Veteran's Day I took the boys to hike Old Rag. It has been on my bucket list for years and now that the boys are older and can do more 'grown up' things, the time had come. We stayed at this awesome ranch that my friend lives on. It is sweet! The boys loved it and keep asking "when can we go back? The answer was no, we'd be hiking but they kept asking along the hike if I thought they killed it yet. Such boys! It was a good/tough climb. Things I heard along the trail:.

The Salinas Family: July 2013
http://salinasva.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 22, 2013. This year the boys did not go with their troop to the designated scout camp. I decided to take the same week and work on the stuff I knew they needed to help get them further along. It was a fun and busy week. Our neighbor, also a Webelos, joined us for a couple activities. We visited the library to look at newspapers from long ago. The earliest they had was from 1853. We learned the paper costs 2 cents! We made model boats. Christian and Anthony learned to make friendship bracelets.

The Salinas Family: August 2012
http://salinasva.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 1, 2012. This kid is crazy! Yes, that is the bathroom. He thinks this is sooooo comfortable.much better than the "awful" mattress he has on his bed. What? He says he sleeps so much better since he doesn't have to listen to Christian snoring or Anthony making so much noise. Umm.ok. It's his 4th night in there but I'm thinking it might not last too much longer. I'm a little lost on his thinking with this one. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Monday, June 17, 2013. Happy 9th Birthday Christian! So glad this boy is mine! Sunday, June 16, 2013. This is Diego after hitting a grand slam home run! It was so great to watch. Bases loaded and he smacks it into center field where it almost hits the fence. He made it all the way home! The look of pure happiness on his face was priceless. He has wanted a hit like that all season.it was only fitting it came on the last game of the season. I love watching him play! Sunday, June 2, 2013. Monterey - Day 3.

The Salinas Family: February 2013
http://salinasva.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 15, 2013. After scouts the boys headed into the gym to find the teenagers playing dodge-ball for their activity. The older kids were nice enough to go Young Men vs. Scouts. Christian was last man standing a couple times. Here are just half of the young men that were left going after Christian. These guys didn't take it easy on the young kids. They got pretty intense. It was fun to watch. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Bennetts: Living a Journey. The Blakely Family Chronicles.

The Salinas Family: The next Bear Grylls
http://salinasva.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-next-bear-grylls.html
Wednesday, August 7, 2013. The next Bear Grylls. We are on a kick of watching survival shows here at our house. Diego has figured out how to catch fish with a water bottle and little bits of bread. He is quite good at it. I have decided it would be ok to get stranded somewhere with Diego. He knows his stuff. Looking for the fish. Attracting the fish with bread. This is what I see as he's setting up his trap. I'm thinking I don't want to know what made all those holes. It was pretty good! Monterey - Day 3.
