Bringing Home Holland: I HAVE THIS!

http://bringinghomeholland.blogspot.com/2015/04/i-have-this.html

Sunday, April 19, 2015. We are DTC for Superman and were LID on 4/14. The US expedited his adoption and now we are praying that China does the same. If that is the case we leave in the next month to 6 weeks I am guessing. If they don't (LOA's have significantly come down in time) I am still praying for August. I know it's his timing, and He has always timed it just right in the past! However, this post is about so much more. This is about HIS provisions as well as His plan. Did I forget to mention that w...

Bringing Home Holland: Adopting a child with dwarfism

http://bringinghomeholland.blogspot.com/2015/02/adopting-child-with-dwarfism.html

Thursday, February 5, 2015. Adopting a child with dwarfism. We get asked a lot about the medical needs of our kids - in fact a comment asked yesterday spurred this post. What is being done medically for your kids with dwarfism.". Let's answer that question first -. They are super healthy,. They are like you and I,. They are just short. We often get asked what adopting a child with dwarfism entails. Our kids were were 2.5 yrs, 4.5 yrs, and 11 when they came home. MANY files will describe developmental del...

Monday, January 10, 2011. Our journey with dwarfism. I am the mom to three wonderful children currently 12, 8, and 4. Although we have 3 biological children, we were told that we would never be able to have children. My husband and I were in the process of foster adopt when we became pregnant with our first son. What a surprise and delight! When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip – to Italy. You buy a bunch of guidebooks and make your wonderful plans. T...I'm suppose...

Bringing Home Holland: Finding Grace

http://bringinghomeholland.blogspot.com/2015/01/finding-grace.html

Thursday, January 29, 2015. God has really been working on us over the past 6 months and finally I was brought to my knees and God and I had a heart to heart. My cries that NO - I am not going one more step forward until HE gave us answers for Cav. We are talking on my knees,. Screaming at God,. Are we to stupid to give up,. I know for a fact that YOU God sent us to this child,. But I can NOT,. My heart aches for this child,. He plays by himself,. I want to see him smile God. And on, and on, and on.

Bringing Home Holland: Freedom

http://bringinghomeholland.blogspot.com/2015/05/freedom.html

Friday, May 8, 2015. I think I blogged about Camp No limits we went to in Janurary. Cav was able to try out a set of running blades there and in typical Cav fashion he was running on his own in 3 passes. Unfortunately they are $20,000 A PIECE. And insurance deems them cosmetic. I don't care whether we are adopting again or not, I just can't justify $40,000 for running blades. Anyhow, Colorado offers a running clinic through Hangar prosthetics. We went last year. Blah, blah, push off with your good leg etc.

Simply Love: August 2014

http://simplylove127.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Our friends have spent their lives caring and loving on these children who have been cast aside and need a family. Our prayer is to be able to bless them and the work they are doing by raising awareness and funds to help care for the orphans. And just maybe God will move in your heart and call you to adopt or pray for one of these precious treasures. :). Sunday, August 17, 2014. I have a friend. Her name is Marjorie St. John. She had to have a serious, emergency surgery this past week. And I thought of t...

A Road on My Journey. Internal and external adventures of an MK. Thankful Thursday 5-28-15 →. April 30, 2015. Anyway, the end of April it is, and Thursday once again. Which means it’s time to sit down and remember all the things I have to be thankful for this week. Things like:. Is now officially registered and the proud bearer of shiny new plates. Finding the title for my old car, after an hour of looking (oh, the things I keep! 😛 ), and that said old car (partially pictured here. There are, of course,...

A Road on My Journey. Internal and external adventures of an MK. Thankful Thursday 6-4-15 →. May 28, 2015. There are still a plentitude of things to be thankful for, though, including (but not limited to🙂 ) :. A good severance package. The fact that I don’t melt in the rain, given that I neglected both to find out when the “possible thunderstorms” would be arriving and to bring my umbrella with me to the library two Saturdays ago (I did get wet on the way to the car, but survived). Gifts of beautiful fl...

A Slice of Life: Our Story

http://beccaleigh80.blogspot.com/p/adoption-decision.html

A Slice of Life. When Micah was four days shy of four months old, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and underwent chemo, surgery, radiation and Herceptin (a breast cancer drug) that I had to take for a full year. I had my last Herceptin treatment on Sept. 9, 2009. We immediately became very excited about the possibility and pursued this baby by contacting an attorney and beginning the home study process and even corresponding with this girl. Ultimately she decided to parent, and while we wer...

And Henry Makes Three. Saturday, August 16, 2014. Time continues to zoom by, it's hard to believe it's almost fall - we are so looking forward to spending this fall with Henry! Another big milestone this summer has been potty training. As of August 4, Henry is in big boy undies full-time during the day and doing great! In terms of developmental milestones, Henry is speaking in Tarzan-like sentences (e.g. "No poop pants, poop potty! He is able to get dressed and undressed mostly without help, the only iss...

Bringing Home Holland

Friday, April 8, 2016. Gyro-Stim update - Did it work? That's the question we get over and over. I just couldn't post. A part of me just didn't want to get my hopes up - I know that sounds odd BUT how many times over the last 4 years have we had some hope for it to be dashed. BUT we have been long enough out of treatment, and past the mark where any brain rewiring would occur that I believe I can start to hope. In one word we were DESPERATE! ANYHOW - here is what our life looks like now. The beginning of...
