It Was the Best of Times. Thursday, October 24, 2013. For our group school last Friday the kids had a spelling bee, Harry Potter style. Complete with accent. :) It was so cute. They each had their own set of words since we have a variety of skill levels. Their stuffed friend was the one that moved around the numbers as they got their words right. The reward at the end was a chocolate frog. They also had a "potions" class. Little One as she spells one of her words. The kids made their own pizzas for lunch.

It Was the Best of Times. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. My test was last Wednesday. Little One got some fun shots. My little budding photographer. :). Tying on the new belt. Square horse while Te was being intentionally long-winded. ;). She seems to like this kind of shot. LOL. Me and my teenage friends. LOL I swear there are other adults, but they are up in ban bu class already. She insisted on taking this one. Pretty good horse stance. :). Periwinkle got her green belt too, of course. :).

It Was the Best of Times. Sunday, July 28, 2013. Best Day and a Half EVER. It's amazing that with certain people, you can not see each other for years and yet pick up like you've never been apart. Kindred spirits, as Anne Shirley would say. In our case, the last time I saw Katie in person was when Little One was only 18 months. 7 years ago. Monday night we visited and had a super yummy dinner (homemade chicken nuggets! This picture is so very Katie. I love it! After another yummy dinner of homemade pizza...

It Was the Best of Times. Thursday, September 12, 2013. Homeschool Has Begun Again! This year for science we are doing chemistry. Mom's favorite. :) Specifically, we are learning about atoms and molecules. Little One is really enjoying it too. Here are a couple of the experiments we've done so far. First we learned what atoms and molecules are and then we made some with colored marshmallows. Here we learned that molecules move faster than cold ones. Is there space between molecules? Why yes, there is!

The 4th of July started out with Little One and I in the city parade with our karate school. It was lots of fun, even though it was hot. Little One sat on the float and threw candy.
