Running, Training, Coaching and whatever else happens as a result. Hour long run in the morning, 3 Hours of Basketball at Night. This is the part where my over-competitiveness catches up with me. Sunday was a nothing day, and Friday I took off so I had to get up and out on Monday. The problem was that at night I had basketball practice, and since I hadn’t touched a basketball in about a month, I needed to be out there as long as I could. Weekly miles: 5.8. Tuesday with Nike/ Lost. Date : August 17, 2011.

Running, Training, Coaching and whatever else happens as a result. 5:24 at the Boardwalk Mile 2nd Place Overall! 2nd Place Overall, 1st in 19-29 Age Group. After feeling good for a whole week before the race, I really didn’t feel ready when it came race time. Chalk it up to nerves with an assist from an early wake-up time. Valerie went out in a race filled with High Schoolers and did OK for herself. She ended up running about 5:57, which is faster than she did a couple weeks ago at the Dan Kelley Mile.

I broke out the Shuffle with my new foam padding in the headphones today for an easy hour-long run. With 2 consecutive fairly hard days in the rear-view, I wanted to take it easy, yet not too easy.
