Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: Faith, Food, Amusement
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2012/02/faith-food-amusement.html
Friday, February 17, 2012. Faith, Food, Amusement. Verses that stood out:. And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat? They gave him a piece of broiled fish,. And he took it and ate it in their presence. Why they stood out:. The second one: OMG. I'm c...

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: Morning by Morning
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2012/02/morning-by-morning.html
Thursday, February 16, 2012. Mockers resent correction,. So they avoid the wise. A happy heart makes the face cheerful,. But heartache crushes the spirit. The discerning heart seeks knowledge,. But the mouth of a fool feeds on folly. All the days of the oppressed are wretched,. But the cheerful heart has a continual feast. Better a little with the fear of the LORD. Than great wealth with turmoil. Better a small serving of vegetables with love. Than a fattened calf with hatred. Thank God I'm not God.

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: December 2008
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 23, 2008. If It Weren't for Jesus I'd Quit This Christian Thing! Breathe in. Breathe out.*. So this is my little rant. I've been developing it now for the past few months and now its gotten to an all time high. * grrr. And these are the people representing Jesus! How can we possibly expect people to want a life following Jesus if all we do is tear each other's throats out and treat non-Christians as if they are the scum beneath our feet? Since high school she became a bartender. She...

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: March 2009

Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Is Home Really Where My Rump Rests? This year has been an odd year, and due to the intense situations ebbing and flowing through my senior year I have been disinclined to truly enjoy where I am. So it was a great surprise to me when, for the first time in 7 months, I actually started enjoying my desert. My spring break was actually full of fun little surprises like that. I guess Christ will just have to get that much bigger for me. Friday, March 20, 2009. People most of my life, ...

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: January 2009
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Who Are You to Lead These People? I HATE sharing things. Hate Hate Hate Hate. And I don't mean physical things. Sure, you can borrow my blanket, or have some of my apple, or wear my skirt. Whatever. Those things are incredibly unimportant. No, I mean I have an intense aversion to sharing personal things, like thoughts, dreams, memories and the whatnot. I know that I'm generally very personable. Sure. Why not? Tuesday, January 13, 2009. However, I think people who are "sad dru...

Tuesday, February 10, 2009. If Casablanca's Problems Don't Amount to A Hill of Beans in This Crazy World, Then I'm Screwed. One of my favorite games to play when I was in Europe last year (I can't believe it has already been a year) was a kind of "what if" game. "What would I be doing if I were not Studying Abroad right now? Tucson. England. *weighs scales* yea. I think England wins out on the "excitement" factor inherently. In 125 degree phoenix summer heat. ew. And then it occurred. How Laid Off Spells...

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: November 2009
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 7, 2009. I Wanna Hold Your Hand. So, I figured that posting a blog update would be the best way to fill in most people across the ocean on my recent relationship activity. For the whole story feel free to email me and demand details :-). I miss you all! Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Update, I'd title it something more interesting, but I suck at Blogging so. And Ashley recorded one of my most embarrassing, but honest moments in a Wal-Mart. I can't thank everyone enough for all the financia...

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: I love you, Freddie Mercury.
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2012/02/i-love-you-freddie-mercury.html
Sunday, February 19, 2012. I love you, Freddie Mercury. Verses that stood out:. Bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples. May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now reside as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham.”. So that I return safely to my father’s household, then the LORD. Will be my God. Still a hit. 15 years later Queen wrote " The Show Must Go On".

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: Things I Assumed as a Kid
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2015/04/things-i-assumed-as-kid.html
Friday, April 10, 2015. Things I Assumed as a Kid. Having more friends makes you happy. Lie I didn't realize it growing up because I've always been really friendly and bubbly, but I am a huge introvert. Probably why I'd rather blog than discuss my thoughts with the outside world, really. I always wanted to be popular. to "belong". I want ALL the toys. Expensive list: food, whisky, tequila (basically all alcohols, I'm in my late 20s. can't mess with crap alcohol anymore), good furniture, my bed and sh...

Contemplations of a Traveling Heart: May 2009
http://lizisgrowing.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 15, 2009. Where Do I Go From Here? What do I put my hope in? Where do I invest my time? Where do I place my value? Recently I'm thinking I may have gotten these BIG questions wrong. I was doing it wrong. I put a lot of hope in a system, which God is taking from me. I've put a lot of time into that same system and the people there, and now God is moving me out of it. And I have received my value from the people in this system. How does one invest more time with Jesus other than in the word?
