History of Charlie Fox. It was August 1959 before a buyer was found, and was converted to Series 308 configuration for Transcontinental SA of Argentina. This included a roomy cabin with 104 seats instead of the possible 132, and a cocktail bar in the rear. The Britannia Aircraft Preservation Trust was launched in 1991, on the 40th Anniversary year of the first flight of the prototype Bristol Britannia. In its efforts to help fund the Trust, it published A History of the Bristol Britannia. Written by founder trustee David Littlefield, and produced a limited edition print, First Whisper.
