MP Railway: July 2010
http://mprailway.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
The First Transition Era - Wood to Steel". Friday, July 16, 2010. Is not generally something I care much about. I'm moved mostly by the things I see in museums, not Silverliners. And yet.when I saw this website. And yet.seeing these, it's hard not to think of what you could do with them, and how they would look on a model of the Northeast Corridor. Thursday, July 8, 2010. If you like interlockings. I have the site for you. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Barnard, Roberts Books.
MP Railway: Annus Mirabilis
http://mprailway.blogspot.com/2012/02/annus-mirabilis.html
The First Transition Era - Wood to Steel". Sunday, February 26, 2012. Philip Larkin designated 1963 as a watershed year in his famous "Annus Mirabilis," for reasons that have less than nothing to do with this blog:. Which was rather late for me). Between the end of the "Chatterley ban". And the Beatles first LP.". Lady Chatterley's Lover,. There was the Profumo Affair. Another one of those salacious incidents that leave the impression of ineradicable change. And of course, there was also the Beeching Axe.
MP Railway: May 2010

The First Transition Era - Wood to Steel". Tuesday, May 18, 2010. A Tale of Two Depots. Sometimes the prototype is perfect - just what you need. Other times, the prototype comes close to what you want it to be - but you want to modify it just a bit. One good case in point is the Colorado Midland Railway' station in Granite, Colorado. In hopes of finding plans, I was surprised at how simple the prototype really was. It was like seeing someone famous without the makeup on. Saturday, May 15, 2010. This turn...
MP Railway: The Next Big Thing
http://mprailway.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-next-big-thing.html
The First Transition Era - Wood to Steel". Wednesday, August 15, 2012. The Next Big Thing. Is not new; if it were, trucks and other major components would be an idea, rather than a product. But it's a great idea, and it has incredible potential, because it promises to get around one of the requirements that has always bedeviled model railroading - the challenge of volume. Reactions to this are naturally mixed. Tim Warris, the creative mind behind the beautiful Port Kelsey Railway and Fast Tracks. Narrow ...

MP Railway: RIP, Earl Smallshaw

The First Transition Era - Wood to Steel". Sunday, March 9, 2014. RIP, Earl Smallshaw. I never managed to meet him, but I was saddened to hear that Earl Smallshaw has died. He published many interesting articles on modeling over the years. He was always a pleasure to read, because he was a craftsman who could explain his techniques without becoming didactic or boring. His family has generously consented to keep his website. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Pennsy T and HS.

MP Railway: December 2010
http://mprailway.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
The First Transition Era - Wood to Steel". Tuesday, December 7, 2010. No doubt about it - looks like it's all post-WWII, with the majority of the footage of the ex-Army 2-6-0s. But plenty of footage of the ex-CM steamers, in the District and on Ute Creek Pass - the closest you'll ever get to seeing authentic color footage of the Colorado Midland Railway. While not being good photo's, they are good photo's of British Railways at work, taken at a moments notice when something good appeared. Please enjoy and feel free to use them in whatever way you wish. I was just 17 when this was taken at 21A Saltley loco outside no3 roundhouse. The engine is 2-6-0 Mogul 43046. They were good engines, but were very noisey and the cab moved about a lot, the injectors were good too, we used them on the Leicester, Derby and Reddich lines. British Railways Steam Ex Southern.
