Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Taking the long view. It is quite something that waiting a month before trying to reach an assessment of our new government feels laggardly. As an aside. I feel sorry for the first generation of Facebook politicians. Thursday, September 26, 2002. Peter, oh, Peter. Good, if long interview with Peter Mandelson. In today's Guardian. For those interested in colour pieces, it does a lot t unlock a notoriously private man. Posted by Brit Spin @ 12:01 PM. Leak reveals Lib Dem strategy on Tories. Is given a paper which he describes as a startegy for winning over Tories. Doesn't seem like much of a stategy to me (ooh, let's encourage defections and do some campaigning! I have to admit, but it's interesting nonetheless. Howeve...

Thursday, June 21, 2007. A few quick points. It's been a busy, long day in the boring world of real work. so just a few quick points may expand upon on the morrow, though I might get dristracted by Big Brother, kittens, or watching iPhone adverts repeatedly (I waaaant one. I waaaaaaaaant it now). 1 It seems obvious that this was a real serious offer. 2 I fail to see what is dirty and underhand about offering a cabinet job to a member of an opposition party. 3 What exactly do the Lib Dems want? In the las...

Friday, November 08, 2002. On decency in politics. Amongst the torrent of words that have recently been unloaded over the head of the leader of the Conservative Party in the last week, perhaps the most common has been decent . It strikes me that this is a sad state of affairs. Decency is no mean quality in a person driven by belief. We seem only able to recognise this on their death or retirement. I think of Paul Wellstone, or of John Smith. A decent politician is driven by belief, but respects opponents.

Friday, September 13, 2002. On Diets and men. Like me, is on a diet and perhaps influenced by this, decries David Aaronvich's. Declaration of interest- I've been on a diet for about 4 months. I've gone from a 42 waist to a 34 and have another stone and a half to lose. And I want it NOW. Posted by Brit Spin @ 5:57 PM. It's my first month as a blogger here. 556 visitors to date, so, subtracting me cheating, I can be reasonably confident of 500 visitors. 500 divided by 30 is ummm just over 16, so le...Hones...

Saturday, September 07, 2002. Did we have clues? Story is right, The whole debate on Terrorism preperation changes. Basically, accroding to the sources, THe US and UN ignored a warning that the Taliban were planning something big on American soil that would kill thousands of civilians because. A) They'd had so many warnings that Bin Laden was going to kill thousands and the warnings never came true. Obviously, you need to be on Cover Your Ass watch throughout this story. YESTERDAY'S FISH AND CHIPS: November 2006

YESTERDAY'S FISH AND CHIPS. Sunday, November 12, 2006. WHY LAUNCHING A FIREWORK UP YOUR ARSE MAY JUST BE A GOOD IDEA. Did you hear about the man from Sunderland who thought it a good idea to stick a firework up his backside? The 22-year old soldier inserted a firework between his buttocks before lighting it. Within seconds he learnt his lesson as he fell to the floor. Taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital, he was treated for burns to his colon before being released. And finally, the Canadian man who on Hall...

YESTERDAY'S FISH AND CHIPS. Saturday, December 23, 2006. THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE (AND AFTER) CHRISTMAS. It's been over a month since i added to the blog. In that time we have lept from fireworks to christmas, an almost seamless transition. I love Christmas. I absolutely love it. In theory it's the ideal holiday. But oh how wrong we are! A visit to a 24-hour Tesco Superstore will soon restore your faith and reaffirm that no, we can't all get along, not even for a day. And what a day it is! May you relax, chi...

YESTERDAY'S FISH AND CHIPS: BBC spit out their dummy

http://jack-davies-blog.blogspot.com/2007/03/bbc-spit-out-their-dummy.html

YESTERDAY'S FISH AND CHIPS. Monday, March 05, 2007. BBC spit out their dummy. A short entry today you may be relieved to hear - I have a presentation to give on Wednesday and it is about as complete as a Virgin TV channel package. Today it was announced that the BBC was finally allowed to reveal the contents of a key document in the cash for honours enquiry. But whilst the BBC may gloat and present this as a victory, it is something far short of that - it is downright childish. The case is sure to go in ...

One mans point of view. The Case for Closing Churches. Ever since the Catholic church came to Norway a thousand years ago, people have been building churces. Now it's time to tear some of them down. There was a time when it made sence to build and keep all the churces, that every little community had their own congregation. But not anymore. July 06, 2005 in Political.
