Do we have to come on a Saturday? In the high season it is more difficult but we try to be flexible, so please ask, we realise that Ferries are very expensive and it makes sense to come mid week if you can. How many people does the cottage sleep? It will sleep four, but as the single beds are on a mezzanine, there is not a lot of privacy. Can we come for a long weekend? Any time outside school holidays is fine. Is the cottage child friendly? What about the elderly and disabled? Do we have to have a car?

The cottage is detached, next to the main house, with a sunny terrace, bbq, and small garden of its own. On the ground floor there is a studio lounge, shower room and separate kitchen. A woodburner heats the lounge for cosy evenings. In addition to the double bed, a millers stair leads to a mezzanine with two single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with wood burning and gas cookers. There is a laundry room available in the main house. The TV has usual English channels plus French if required.

The Vallée du Blavet is an area of rolling wooded countryside and pretty villages. Local Attractions - no more than 15 mins drive :. The Village of L'An Mil is thought to be the original site of Melrand, abandoned in the middle ages, reconstructed with animals and crops grown at that time. Surrounded by rivers fishing is popular with locals and visitors. St Nicolas des Eaux is a pleasant bike ride along the towpath from Bourdousse. Nearby Rimaison has a nine hole golf course set in lovely countryside.

The gite is situated in some fifteen acres of woodland, meadow and riverbank and is looped by the River Sarre, before it joins the Blavet on its journey to the sea. At the end of a lane, there is little traffic other than fishermen and walkers following the track to the river.
