This classic of a Beijing family coping with the Japanese invasion of their city in the 1930s is one of Lao She's most moving novels. He based much of it on his own family's experiences. Soy la persona más miedosa del mundo, por eso me aseguro de despedirme dos veces por temor a no volver a ver nunca más a una persona, por eso reviso hasta tres veces si las hornillas de la cocina andan abiertas por miedo a morir asfixiada, y varias veces también para corroborar si el condón no se rompió y no cagarme la vida.
