Monday, 9 June 2008. Editing The Bath Sparkles Footage. We reviewed the production material the day after the shoot and made a number of decisions and changes. The Audio we had managed to capture was nowhere near the quality we needed and often cheering, clapping and other background noise was present over the music being played. Hill is a good friend of mine who will shortly be releasing a Jazz / Soul album. I've also done a lot of Recording work and training in Hill's Studio and he has given me a great deal of help and encouragement with my studies. Thursday, 15 May 2008. Visit to BBC Bristol. I was lucky enough to be invited by my mate Martyn Harries to visit him at work at BBC Broadcasting House in Bristol. Martyn is a Dubbing Mixer and has worked on numerous Natural History Programmes along with Drama and Entertainment. He was part of the BBC Team that won the 1999 BAFTA Award for Best Sound (Factual) for 'the Life of Birds.'. All in all an excellent day and a really educational visit - cheers for the pint! Wednesday, 20 May 2009. BC2006 - work experience - promotional video. Another self-generated project is this promotional video for former Olympic mogul skiier Hugh Hutchison. Hugh now works as a marketing consultant and motivational speaker and needed a video to help promote his work. I felt it would be great experience for me to work with someone of his profile and as he has done a lot of commentating work for BBC and Sky Sports, he is calm and comfortable in front of the camera.
