Thursday, August 22, 2013. Thursday, August 22, 2013. Monday we celebrated M, N and E's 10th birthday! They are so excited to be double digits now! Since we had cake at a church outing the day before, they decided they didn't want cake again - so they opted for peach cobbler (which worked out great since we had a half bushel of them fresh from the farm! And if I had a nickel for every book they read this summer I'd be well on my way to vacation! And "where is the nearest school? I called a friend. Th...

January 2015 ~ Living Simply for God
http://livingsimplyforgod.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. Our Journey Thus Far. Friday, January 23, 2015. Looking back on our life to early 2011 it's almost painful to remember how different it was. Up until that time, we were completely caught up in the rat race. We owned a huge house in a beautiful, suburban neighborhood with a gorgeous pool and a bunch of cars, including my husband's dream Porsche. Weren't we living the American dream? It wasn't until I became part of a women's group at our church/school that my mindset began to cha...

Just Dahlin'!: July 2008
http://justdahlin.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Heathadahlin's Photo Blog, documenting the life and times of this Southern (wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, teacher) Woman. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Day 18: Retail Therapy. Today, I'm grateful James watched the kids so I could go to Target alone. The best thing about Target trips when your down is the food side. Once upon a time, they carried the merengue cookies. Now, though, my crack has a different manifestation. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Never fear, it was more. Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Today,...

September 2013 ~ Living Simply for God
http://livingsimplyforgod.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Wednesday, September 18, 2013. It seems I'm constantly looking for new ways to get veggies into our kids. Don't get me wrong, they are really good eaters. But we still get stuck in ruts and it feels like we eat the same things over and over again. Trying new things is always a challenge - with four kids, it's hard to please everyone! It really couldn't be easier to make green eggs! After they were blended, I just scrambled them like normal - in some coconut oil. The mix...

Food & Recipes: February 2011
http://broadhorizonsfood.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 9, 2011. I was planning to have guacamole and chips for lunch, but when I went to make it, the avocados had gone bad (grumble, grumble), so . . . i decided to do bean dip instead. Couldn't be bothered with a recipe, so here's what I did . . . 1 can black beans, drained. 2 cloves garlic, chopped. 2 large spoonfuls plain yogurt (used a tablespoon (the silverware kind, not the measuring kind) and plopped 2 big spoonfuls in). 2 large spoonfuls mild salsa (see above). A sprinkle of salt.

Thursday, September 23, 2010. Rodney wasn't going to be here for supper tonight so I went searching for recipes I wanted to try that were things Rodney wouldn't like LOL. I actually was planning to make zucchini "crab" cakes, but thought that wouldn't be enough all on it's own, so noticed this. We ate ALL of it! It's easy, cheap and healthy, what more could you want! But I don't know what makes them "tacos" they're not all all mexican-like). 3 cups chicken broth (or water and chicken seasoning). Another ...
