Musing about the clock inside human body. Musing about the clock inside human body. Anthropology in the News. The American Anthropological Association. National register of historic places. Hi anyone knows how our internal clock knows what time is it? I mean, when I say to myself, "wake up at 5am tomorrow", i'd actually wake up at 5 ( /- 5 minutes). i mean, does our brain keeping tab on what time is it, or do i wake up unknowingly and look at the clock and sleep again or something? The circadian rhythm i...

This is not an intro - Horror Business. Dark, Horror, and Halloween Inspired Businesses, Entrepreneurs, and Artists. 13 March 2009 @ 09:08 am. This is not an intro. G'day I'm Brock, well, Brock is a fictional character who lives on the internet, which is OK because in Real Life I'm a fictional character. I am less Goth than you. I am neopagan, geeky and queer. I have been watching Anime since about 1970. Yes, I am Crusty-[subculture], I am over 40. So, much of what I say here will need warnings "May Not ...

THIS JOURNAL IS FRIENDS ONLY. Please comment, if you would - Where in the World? How did she get here . I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. Mdash; (no subject). Mdash; (no subject). Mdash; (no subject). Mdash; (no subject). Its me, Stacy!

Vegetarian/vegan characters - Food and Drink in Fiction
http://food-in-fiction.livejournal.com/43042.html
Food and Drink in Fiction. The Different - Melissa Etheridge. I'm working on what I will write for NaNoWriMo this year and I have hit a bit of a stumbling block. When pondering one of my main characters it occurred to me that, due to her species, she'd logically have to be at least vegetarian, if not vegan. She's a fantasy character based off a qilin/kirin which is noted for, among other things, not eating flesh. Posted on Oct. 24th, 2011 at 08:17 pm. Pottage. It's basically vegetables and/or legumes...

Why art sites suck - Birdbrain. Why art sites suck. Laquo; previous entry. Next entry ». Aug 29th, 2010 03:47 pm. I'm posting this list of perceived failings of art websites to help brainstorm some ideas to overcome these limitations. This post is generally directed at FurAffinity. But some of this applies to DeviantArt. And others as well. Don't make me poll. When there's new gryphon art to be viewed. Polling for it is stupid. Don't lump all images together. Don't make thumbnails so tiny. They make sear...

Working with human remains? - Anthropologist Community

Working with human remains? Working with human remains? Anthropology in the News. The American Anthropological Association. National register of historic places. To biological anthropologists and archaeologists, how did you get over the.awkward uneasy feeling of working with human bones and remains? I've been working in a zooarchaeology lab sorting bones of various animals and working my way up to large mammals, but recently I sort of got thrown a bombshell with human bones. 6th-Nov-2011 08:19 am (UTC).

Steam punk recommendations?? - Trees find their beauty by branching out
http://kindredsgirl.livejournal.com/68428.html
Trees find their beauty by branching out. April 27th, 2010. What would you recommend as an introductory book for a 50ish geek who's been away from science fiction for a while. He's particularly interested in Steampunk. April 27th, 2010 11:29 pm (UTC). If his tastes run to hard science fiction, I'd say "The Difference Engine" is a good choice; if he likes more fantasy kinda stuff, there's always Girl Genius. April 27th, 2010 11:33 pm (UTC). And have some passing acquaintance with Abney Park. April 28th, 2...
