Just another WordPress.com site. Jellicoe Road Extract- Melina Marchetta. November 12, 2010. The vocabulary is very descriptive and uses emotional language to heighten the piece of writing. Shangri-La is a metaphor used to make it sound like paradise. The mood is quite sad and makes me feel much like the description the girl is giving in the prologue- and that is sad. The tone used starts and ends very seriously, this is to make the meaning of the story more serious and to emphasis the point of the story.
