Life Upside Down: Long Overdue Update
http://halfaworldawayandupsidedown.blogspot.com/2008/09/long-overdue-update.html
The wierd, wonderful, and everday happenings of life in Australia as viewed by an American. Thursday, September 18, 2008. Has it really been several weeks since I last updated? I loved getting to be a tourist for a day. I've got heaps of photos and will upload some of the better ones when I get a chance. Unfortunately, all the kangaroo pics were out a bus window moving at around 60 mph as we drove by. It's a long lease too which means we won't have to move again soon, thankfully. Next stop, car hunting.

http://halfaworldawayandupsidedown.blogspot.com/2008/09/quick-hello.html
The wierd, wonderful, and everday happenings of life in Australia as viewed by an American. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. I'm quite happy this week -I finished my coding project at work -woohoo! I'm learning heaps about C# and Xaml. Hopefully the next project will get done even quicker now. They've been on ferry rides, to the Opera house, hiking, to lighthouses, and today they are in the Blue Mountains. I hope they're enjoying themselves as much as we are. Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Saudi King Fahd dead. 5:09 am on Monday, August 1, 2005. Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd — whose reign was marked by unprecedented prosperity, but whose close ties with the United States stirred the passions of Islamic militants — has died, Saudi Arabia’s information minister announced Monday. His exact age remains uncertain — believed to be between 82 and 84. A source told CNN’s Nic Robertson that Fahd died Sunday evening. His burial is scheduled for Tuesday at 3 pm (8 am EDT) in Riyadh. Most people don’...

The End of Excess? 9:25 pm on Monday, March 30, 2009. My brother sent me this article: The End of Excess: Is This Crisis Good for America? It is worth reading. I don’t agree with everything the article says. Actually I disagree with quite a lot, but it is worth reading for some of the positives that can come out of our current crisis. House GOP Health Care Reform. 1:08 pm on Friday, January 21, 2011. Everyone knows House Republicans (along with three Democrats) voted Wednesday to repeal Obamacare. But fewer people know what those same House Republicans — this time, with 14 Democrats — did Thursday. Like a lot of people I am skeptical of the House GOP since they didn’t do a great job last time, but this is an encouraging sign. They should be well aware though that people like we are paying attention. Feed for comments on this post.

The origins of the Great War of 2007. 11:34 am on Monday, January 16, 2006. This imaginative view of a possible future: The origins of the Great War of 2007 – and how it could have been prevented. Is worth thinking about. Some of the specific thoughts presented strike me as unlikely, but the general idea that a nuclear Iran could spark a world conflict, perhaps dwarfing WWII, is not impossible. Since this post is rather long, my analysis of our options is below the break. January 16, 2006 @ 12:35 pm.
