Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Can't figure him out! So Zach's latest favorite thing to do? Still spelling, but now he's added counting. We still haven't spent any time teaching him either of these, I think he's just picked it up from some of his toys, but he loves to sing the alphabet song and to count to ten, not bad for still being 2! Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Zach saw Santa for the first time last Thursday at St. Mark's Hospital. To be honest, I expected tears. But, Zach went right up to Santa for the picture and stared at him in awe. Then Santa gave him a little stuffed Rudolf Raindeer and a Barbershop Quartet sang "Rudolf" to him. He loved it. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. A Picture Is Really Worth a Thousand Words.Especially with my family. I had wanted to shoot an update of my sweet blessings. This was as good as it was going to get. Orion is at the wonderful stage of wanting mommy and daddy all the time, Leif is 3 (that should say it all), and Sweet Ella is the other parent who likes to direct and control her brothers. And she acknowledged that at least I was doing better at keeping it contained to my bedroom instead of the entry and living room. So that is my confession and my warning. We were learning about flowers in my preschool class as part of our spring unit, so we went on a "spot-the-flower-walk". Sunday, February 28, 2010. The Education of Young Children. A couple of weeks ago I spent some time in my classroom switching out some of the toys. I grabbed some blocks from the supply room and threw them in the class. The next morning I started taking a closer look at the blocks and realized that I could not in good conscience leave them there, however I think they offer some great entertainment. I ended up editing them with a black permanent marker so the kids could still enjoy the building pleasure.
