Sunday, November 28, 2010. Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder). I don't fully grasp how an entire new personality can just happen, how when someone wants to block out the pain there alter ego takes play. Where does the real person go? Where does this other personality come from? Does the real person know that someone is taking over their body, did they plan for the alter ego to kick in? There was one passage that stood out to me most. After Mr.Enfield finishes his story about the door, Mr. Utterson asks Mr.Enfield to explain Mr.Hyde. And Mr. Enfield's reply shocks me greatly. Since Mr. Hyde is on trial, the first point you should make is why he (Mr. Hyde) should be put in jail for this murder all the facts that surround his murder. Use facts from the story including witnesses and evidence (murder weapon etc.). Also be sure to use language that is appropriate for your audience (Victorian jury) and your purpose (legal persuasion).
