On the way home we picked up Dr. Brooks' car from Jonathan's (April's fiance) parent's house in Atlanta. His mom sent us home with a full meal- which was Fantastic. Just a day in the life of Vilas and Amy Brooks! Thursday, January 8, 2009. Right after the accident the lead neuro-surgeon at MCG (who's attitude and demeanour we all decided we could do without.) told us that we should not be fooled by movements that Paula made. He told us that patients with brain injuries could trick you into thinking you were getting a purposeful response because their bodies move sporadically, but there is actually no real thought behind the movement. Does she know that we are there?

She has a blurb on her website of the first book, but from another character's point of view. There are so many ways she can take it! Vilas' mom, Paula Drew, was in a horrible bicycle accident at about 1:15 on December 16th. She fell off of her bike, while riding around Lincolnton, and hit her head on the pavement. She has been in the neuroscience ICU at MCG in Augusta ever since (2 weeks today). We think she can here us, but we can't know for sure. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. It's SO great to have Paula at home! She's doing REALLY well. I still have to help her wash her back, wash and dry her hair, and some other minor things.some things that Paula "needs" for me to help her with.is a "put on"! Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Paula saw neuro-surgeon on the 26th of March, and he said that her brain looked normal, was in the proper position, and showed no signs of a clot or and bleeding. They took her off of all the "brain" medicine, and they will X-ray her leg where she had a clot very soon to see if they can ease her off of blood thinner. She's still doing great at home. While standing, she folded numerous towels and wash rags.she would shake them first, then fold them.the folding was a "little" off, but it was great. She reached down several times, picked up her cup, drank some water, then put the cup back down to continue folding.
