I knit and sew and silently plan my escape. About Your Esteemed and Deranged Author. Book Review: Scandinavian Stitch Craft. I got a book in the mail to review: Scandinavian Stitch Craft: Unique Projects and Patterns for Inspired Embroidery by Karin Holmberg. And its a good one! Here’s the cover. It comes out May 7th, 2013. How beautiful are these? I could do that, right? Or let’s take a closer look at the pillows that are on the cover:. Overall the book has 38 projects and it comes with pattern template...

MaggiMakes: October 2010
http://maggimakes.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
A little of this, a smidge of that. Saturday, October 30, 2010. When I began knitting, the idea of a knitted sweater seemed. oh, I don't know. insane. A scarf - sure, no problem. Hats? I'll give it a try. Why not? Even a baby sweater - a much smaller scale, so a little crazy, but doable. A full-on, me-sized, knitted-by-my-own-hands sweater? With the seaming, the blocking, the pattern following and, ack, worst of all, swatch knitting? Even the idea of it was daunting. With its basic stockinette and top do...

Knitted Fits: September 2013
http://knitted-fits.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Knitting for Christmas 2013. It's mid-September, so time for panic to set in. I try to start on the holiday knitting every year, but it never fails that I'm rushed for time as Christmas draws near. I'm working on Cameo. I had three random skeins of sock yarn (only enough yarn for one sock); this has been a good project with which to use them up. I'm finishing off with some leftover Brooks Farm. I'm also working on two projects from Short Story. Start (it's the hood):. I hav...

Paper Moon Knits: February 2011
http://papermoonknit.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
The clock has taken time into its own hands. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Has it really been that long? Okay, so the holidays got away from me, but what's my excuse for last 6 weeks? I've been busy - designing, knitting, shoveling, attending Vogue Knitting Live, shoveling, sketching, writing, shoveling, submitting. This is one of the sweaters with which I've been busy - Strathmore. A design for Knit Picks. Here are the specs:. 31 (34, 37, 40, 43, 46, 49, 52)". US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles, 24" and.

Paper Moon Knits: April 2011
http://papermoonknit.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
The clock has taken time into its own hands. Tuesday, April 5, 2011. In January, my good friend, Sima. We had a drink, talked about their company - check it out here - and discussed designing. They generously offered me the chance to do two designs for them. There was only one catch. I could only use one skein of yarn. When I got home, I used the first skein to employ some of the new skills I learned at VKL and whipped out a pretty little scarflette which was published last month, Riva del Mare.

Paper Moon Knits: Chinaberry
http://papermoonknit.blogspot.com/2010/07/chinaberry.html
The clock has taken time into its own hands. Sunday, July 25, 2010. This is the Chinaberry Pullover. I have been working on this pattern for the last few weeks. As usual, it takes me almost as long to write the pattern as it does to knit it. I also want to have this test-knit before the pattern goes public. This is the Medium (36"), but I wo. Uld like to have it checked for accuracy in the other sizes (33, 39, 42 and 44"). I am going to use a Ravelry group. I'm a little apprehensive. Love is a drug.

mrs murray knits: July 2013
http://mrsmurrayknits.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 28, 2013. Finished: Kirkja and Fiber Christmas in July! While there I picked up a lot of beautiful skeins including a huge 875 yard skein from Dawning Dreams. Who is one of my favorites. This skein is begging to become a Simple Lines Shawl. Also acquired was a skein of "Wooly Shoots" by Two Windows Dye Co. In attendance was Brooks Farm Yarn. Which had a huge. And last but not least, I finally finally had the chance to visit a Lost City Knits. I had to have their Pathways Sock (in Extra Virgi...
