Brownie Town: April 2011

http://brownietown.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 10, 2011. I found a link for a Brownie book online in PDF form. Find it HERE. The primer seems to be compiled from several of Palmer Cox's books. This book was published in 1921 by the Century Company, who also published the other brownie books. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Brownies: Elf-like characters brought to life by late author and illustrator Palmer Cox. A brownie is curious by nature and often secretly helpful to deserving humans. Brownies found all over the Web.

Monday, April 8, 2013. That is what the Mystery Knit-a-Long. Turned out to be. The head was the most difficult part- getting the eyes,. Ears, nose and mouth parts all in a good place. Here is the beaver's tail. Pretty clever pattern- staying in pattern with increases and decreases. Now he is off to dam something up. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Gingerbread Cottage: Medieval Summer

http://gingerbreadcottage.blogspot.com/2013/08/medieval-summer.html

Saturday, August 3, 2013. I learned how to card weave, also known as tablet weaving. I made a loom from scrap lumber and used playing cards to hold the threads in a pattern. I didn't take any pictures that day, I wish I had because I made itty-bitty pies and we grilled sausages over the fire. We even had a trader's fair, where we had some of the things we had made. The few pictures we have at least include one of our plague victims that came. :-). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Baby Bunny Pattern PDF.

Gingerbread Cottage: Summer scarf

http://gingerbreadcottage.blogspot.com/2013/08/summer-scarf.html

Friday, August 30, 2013. Here is the scarf I was talking about just finishing. The pattern is located on Ravelry HERE. As well as if you search Ravelry for Ete Chic! I couldn't resist taking a picture with a jean jacket like the author of the pattern did. It is why I made the scarf in the first place, it looks great with the jacket. :-). The lacy edging was tricky for me at first but I wrote it down on a separate piece of paper in a larger print and this seemed to help me. I could see it! Dyed in the Wool.

Gingerbread Cottage: Happy Easter Time

http://gingerbreadcottage.blogspot.com/2013/03/happy-easter-time.html

Saturday, March 30, 2013. Easter is so early this year and we have had a chilly spring break. Yesterday we cleaned and re-arranged Em's room- yikes, the dust bunnies! Em has a bird feeder right outside her window. And the birds kept us company as we gathered three bags of trash and giveaway. I moved our dining room table as well, under a window, just to get it into a different spot. Somehow that room- really just an extension off the living room has never been right. Your knitted Easter eggs are adorable!

Gingerbread Cottage: Catching Up......

http://gingerbreadcottage.blogspot.com/2013/02/catching-up.html

Wednesday, February 6, 2013. I have been meaning to update this blog for ages and January slipped past me. I kind of wish February would right now. I'm in the midst of a little cold that has me feeling all in a fog. Anyway, I made this felt babushka in December. I was practicing embroidery stitches. She is meant to be an ornament so she still needs a string and next year she will hang from our greenery. Do you ever wonder how a simple cold can make one feel so miserable? I wish you a speedy recovery.

Gingerbread Cottage: Stuffie Surprise Knit-a-long

http://gingerbreadcottage.blogspot.com/2013/04/stuffie-surprise-knit-long.html

Wednesday, April 3, 2013. So far, so good! I am participating in a knit-a-long over at Barbara Prime's Fuzzy Mitten. Every Friday we get an update to the pattern with more pieces to the final product. What do you think it is going to be? It has a long head- but it is rounder than the picture shows. I have left it unstuffed so far. I am waiting for the final picture to aid me with any necessary shaping. There are at least three other patterns for the design on the sweater. Gingerbread Cottage: Maggie's Done!

http://gingerbreadcottage.blogspot.com/2013/03/maggies-done.html

Thursday, March 14, 2013. Well, here she is! I finished the kit for Maggie Rabbit from Alicia Paulson. I am so pleased with how she turned out and the kit was a breeze to follow. I made the knitted shawl that came with the kit. And was inspired to design and make up a wee vest for her as well. I can hardly wait to see the patterns for clothes that Alicia comes up with. She is absolutely adorable Sarah! Thank you for making her! March 17, 2013 at 10:43 PM. March 27, 2013 at 8:56 PM. Baby Bunny Pattern PDF.

Welcome To Brownie Troop 169!

Talent and Interest Survey. Places To Go In Georgia. What does that mean? We are a new troop forming in Grantville, GA. Starting with the 2007-2008 school year. Many of us were Girl Scouts as children. Several Moms I have talked with have shared there favorite memory of summer camp or cookie sales. That’s great! A typical Brownie meeting consists of songs, games, crafts and other activities. They also have time to share their thoughts and help make decisions about troop activities. During their time as B...
