From the Penalty Box

Thursday, April 23, 2009. But what a note to come back on, huh? I don't think I'm the only one who was biting my nails when it was decided that we'd play the Canadiens in the first round. Couldn't have history repeating, right? Schaudenfraude at it's finest, if I do say so myself. And now we go to the next round, where it's either the Rangers, Canes, Pens or Flyers. Hoo boy. None of these teams will make it easy on us, but I get the feeling that we can do it. Friday, November 14, 2008. Entitled 'Fighting...

From the Penalty Box: Thomas snubbed...business as usual, isn't it?

http://www.bruinspenaltybox.blogspot.com/2008/11/thomas-snubbedbusiness-as-usual-isnt-it.html

Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Thomas snubbed.business as usual, isn't it? I ask you. What in the world is it going to take to get Tim Thomas recognized. Snubbed on the All Star ballot in favor of both Brodeur and. Both of whom are injured and have been for the past couple days, at least? Bergeron, Chara and Savard are all on there, which is great, because they all deserve a shot to go (again in Savard and Chara's cases), but come on. Tim Thomas is the backbone. Labels: all star game. Friday, November 14, 2008. After the Habs had their fun with rigging the All Star votes. The league FINALLY decided to take some action. Well gee, thanks, guys. That, you know, the damage has been done and their lead is insurmountable. I implore each and every one of you who reads this blog to VOTE FOR THE BRUINS IN THE ALL STAR FAN BALLOTING. We can't just let this happen. It's ridiculous. Firstly, I recommend that all of you watch the video on this page. I mean, COME ON! Sold on him. Almost. I still th...

Sunday, November 2, 2008. It's been awhile, but. We had a decent winning streak going on for awhile there, didn't we? And boy, oh boy was it hockey worth watching. Tim Thomas was absolutely stellar in our Western Conference swing (and our first game back, too, but I'll touch on that later), and even though our offense was sort of lacking, we made up for it in other ways. And then, we came back home.and this happened. And then this happened. And then, oh yeah.this happened. However, I was ecstatic. Fascin...

For Puck's Sake: Development camp and Free Agency thoughts

http://forpuckssake.blogspot.com/2009/07/development-camp-and-free-agency.html

Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Development camp and Free Agency thoughts. Development camp, day 1: a rousing success all around! After observing all the young'ins doing their thing for about an hour, here are the thoughts I have on my first class of Bruins prospects ever, done peanut-gallery style a-la my shenanigans at the draft. Conversely, Jason Lawrence (J-Lo! Is the wee-est rookie that ever rookied. Stick him on a line with J3 and hilarity will ensue! Oh well. If wishes were fishes.). Injuredpants McGee, ...

Thursday, April 30, 2009. Well hello there, round two. I feel like for each set of Round 2 matchups, the media/internet is trying to grab onto one aspect of the series and run with it. Some of them are awesome, some annoying. Pens/Caps (aka the PaperMate series (thanks,. OVIE/CROSBY. I think the NHL media outlets collectively wet themselves when the Hurricanes came back to win over the Devils, thus solidifying that matchup. Is it exciting? Yes Is it the most exciting Round 2 matchup? The Ducks/Red Wings ...

For Puck's Sake: So Long, Farewell

http://forpuckssake.blogspot.com/2009/05/so-long-farewell.html

Friday, May 15, 2009. So Long, Farewell. In the past 30 hours, my heart was dropped off a cliff (Caps game), put itself back together, gleeful (hanging out with hockey fans at Boston Beer Works), hopeful, exuberant (Bitz's goal) nervous (two 'Canes goals), exuberant again (thanks, Looch). Then, all of a sudden, it felt similar to being run over by eleven eighteen-wheelers. Through broken glass. And possibly some lava. An overtime loss, and all of a sudden, that was that. Goodnight, Bruins. From the annou...

http://forpuckssake.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-life-tragic-comedy-part-3599.html

Monday, June 1, 2009. My Life the Tragic Comedy, part 3,599. Okay So generally the tragic comedy of my life is limited to losing necessary objects, breaking pieces of technology and the fact that my cat has no learning curve ("KITTEN GET OUT OF THE SINK! Has been probably the most-used sentence in my household for a year, followed by a quick blast from a squirt gun) but today it has reached a high point. An article in my own newspaper, the Boston Herald, as of.two days ago. Awesome. So the long and the s...

Thursday, May 21, 2009. One week down, 16 or so to go. It's one week into the Bruins' offseason and I have to say, I may be done grieving for the B's abrupt end to the 2008-2009 season, but that doesn't mean I'm not bored out of my skull waiting for 2009-2010 to start. The new season can't come fast enough. But wait, wait a second. There's actually still some hockey going on! Bits of news and fun things, to take the edge off the offseason:. Short interview with Semyon Varlamov. Have the most epic bromanc...

The Bruins Outsider | Boston Bruins coverage

Tonight’s the Night. October 3, 2013. Although it doesn’t seem like much time has passed since the season ended, the 2013-14 season is upon us and our beloved Bruins are back on the ice tonight. With that said, now seems like as good a time as ever to pose some questions that we can revisit later in the season. 1 Can the New Guys Step Up to the Table? Looked solid during the preseason, but whether or not he can he fill Nathan Horton. I’d be lying if I said I know a ton about Loui Eriksson. I’ve bee...
