Brush Novice: August 2015
http://www.brushnovice.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
A catalog of my painting exploits, aspirations, accomplishments and failures. Wednesday, 19 August 2015. Mounted sergeants in War of the Roses. More War of the Roses. This time I was trying out the mounted sergeants. They're a little fragile, but able to redeploy really quickly which is really handy. With the mission being to capture the crossroads I wasn't advancing very fast to start with. Meanwhile Brads pike (using the sergeants rules) moved up to hold the crossroads. War of the Roses. The noble runn...

A catalog of my painting exploits, aspirations, accomplishments and failures. Wednesday, 3 December 2014. A progress update on my Chaos Marines. Due to a local escalation league starting up in January, I've decided to join to try and get more of my 40k army painted. So first things first, some pictures to show where my starting point is. My lists for the first two stages. This is where I'm heading with the models I have, but it may change a little as I figure out the 40k rules. Partially painted Hellbrut...
Brush Novice: May 2013
http://www.brushnovice.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
A catalog of my painting exploits, aspirations, accomplishments and failures. Thursday, 23 May 2013. I also managed to scrape together enough war lions from the High Elf chariot to make a unit of 5. The rules for these came from the Storm of Magic book which I've noticed has a lot of fun looking and themey units for armies (Cold ones in a Dark Elf army anyone? Wednesday, 8 May 2013. Shown below are some reference images that I took inspiration from. There's a mix of eagles, hawks and falcons.
Brush Novice: Age of Sigmar - War of the Beards!
http://www.brushnovice.blogspot.com/2015/08/age-of-sigmar-war-of-beards.html
A catalog of my painting exploits, aspirations, accomplishments and failures. Saturday, 8 August 2015. Age of Sigmar - War of the Beards! Another game of Age of Sigmar. This time against Alex and his Duardin. Again we ignored the terrain setup rules and made the table look nice. This time we set it in the Old World, around the War of the Beards era. A Chance encounter between too warbands. For deployment we went with something slightly different. Elves advancing through the forest. And the last White Lio...

Spanner in the Works: February 2015
http://nibletindustries.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Tuesday, 10 February 2015. Winner winner chicken dinner! It’s been a while since I last posted about the Stillwater Stiffs; partly because of the collapse in productivity within this blog but also due to their rather average performance in the BCL last year when I played them as Necromantic. However, very recently something has happened that has inspired me to get writing about them again; the Stiffs have won! I did remember t...

Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Wednesday, 12 August 2015. No not the rugby. It's not the 7's we would normally expect from Wellington, it's Blood Bowl 7's! I'm a bit behind in this update as work has been extremely busy but I'm finally catching up. On the 1st of August I attended the inaugural Wellington Blood Bowl 7's held in the convention room at JJ Murphy's on Cuba St. Must have between 7-11 players. 3 Saurus with Block. 1 Skink with Sure Hands. I do re...

http://nibletindustries.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Monday, 28 April 2014. I'm on a boat! Just a random post to fill the void about what I'm up to. A long time ago I started a commission job for a guy at the club who asked me to paint a Marienburg Land Ship for his Vampire Counts army. A slightly less long time ago I took some pictures of the work I have done so far and meant to post them up but never got round to it. Sunday, 6 April 2014. Game 4 - Lackadaisical Larrikins - Draw.
Spanner in the Works: July 2015
http://nibletindustries.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Friday, 31 July 2015. Best burger in Wellington? We may have found the best burger in Wellington, that is if our friends are to be believed. Burgers, not to be confused with Dutch Burghers. We were a bit disappointed to find the truck was not there that night, but we were determined not to let our burger hunt be ruined by this inconvenience. To one of the media articles. Well when this originally came out it unsurprisingly...

Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Wednesday, 14 January 2015. In my previous post about Acknowledging the past and looking forward to the future. Saturday, 10 January 2015. A different kind of card game. I’ve never been a big fan of Magic: The Gathering for two reasons:. The first is that the background story has just never grabbed me. Not to say it is bad, I wouldn’t know as I’ve never read much about it, simply that there’s not been a h...In hindsight itR...
Spanner in the Works: Deathwatch - Tyranid Invasion! I've played it. It's actually quite good!

Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Deathwatch - Tyranid Invasion! I've played it. It's actually quite good! A couple of weeks ago I saw an ad for 'Deathwatch - Tyranid Invasion'. It cost something just short of $7 NZ and in the promotional blurb it said "15 hours of gameplay" so at the time I thought even if I got 1 hour of entertainment out of it I would get my $7 worth, so why not give it a try? You can also swap out their weapons in ...

Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Sunday, 8 December 2013. Stillwater Stiffs - Season Round Up. The blockers Dusty and Wither McTwist have been dropped while Cleo and Tinderbox have been kept on. The space left by Dusty and Wither is being filled with two Werewolves; the first position has been taken by a promising rookie named Fido while the second place is yet to be filled. So as it stands this is the current Stillwater Stiffs lineup:. Sunday, 1 December 2013.
Spanner in the Works: The week that was
http://nibletindustries.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-week-that-was.html
Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Sunday, 19 July 2015. The week that was. Another week has passed me by leaving me wondering where the time has gone and what do I actually have to show for it. When I look back though I can see that I have got some stuff done here and there so I've written up a quick re-cap of the week:. Another game of Mordheim and I actually won this one! In the end it was only the Protectorate and myself left. The Protectorate had gathe...

Spanner in the Works. A blog about geeking, burgers and other important stuff. Sunday, 26 January 2014. Capital Shield only a week away. I've not been totally idle with the painting this week which is extremely unlike me. With Capital Shield looming on the horizon I've been trying to stick to my New Year's Resolution of getting things painted. My first target on that list (read here. For the list) was to complete my Human Blood Bowl team in time for an event in Wellington on the 1st and 2nd of Feb. A clo...

It was the first man-made pigment, and the last color word developed across cultures. The color reminds us of the ocean, sky, calmness and tranquility, one of the color mostly used by painters is now expanding! A new BLUE pigment is discovered! What do you mean? You know what Louis Pasteur said? Subramanian asks. Luck favors the alert mind.
