In addition to the artichokes, we have jerusalem artichokes (which are similar to potatoes- not artichokes), asparagus, yukon gold potatoes, purple skin potatoes, okra (just noticed some babies today, July 22nd), yellow squash, zucchini, patty pan squash (this is my one of my favorite new tries! I can't pick it fast enough. We also got a cucumber today- yay! Guess once I pick a few cabbages and cauliflowers, more room will open up. I'm really ...

Thursday, August 27, 2009. Today I planted some mixed lettuces (mesclun mix, and the remainder of my summer bibb lettuce and "gourmet salad blend" from heirloom seeds); mache, arugula, spinach, and mustard greens. I also planted the rest of my garlic cloves and some of the bulbils. I cut down all the jerusalem artichokes, mostly because they were in my way. I think it's time to do so, but I'm at the point where I'm not overly concerned with wether or not they produce a lot. Jack and Karlee Aug. 09.

So we were all set to be induced on Friday the 25th at 6:00 am Grammy and Papa Snavely came up on Thursday evening to take Jack back to their house for his very first overnight visit, and we did some final cleaning and preparations.
