The Galat Family Blog: April 2008

http://www.bryankategalat.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

The Galat Family Blog. Friday, April 25, 2008. Turkeys, chipmunks and squirrels. Oh my! Moving on. SPRING has finally reached us in Connecticut! Riley was on Spring Break from school last week and the weather was beautiful! We are starting to see a bunch of flowers and blossoms on the trees. It's absolutely breathtaking! Also with spring, comes the sightings of many backyard animals in our yard. We've had deer, turkeys, and Tigger so far! Posted by Kate G. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I'm a stay at home m...

The Galat Family Blog: Raccoons!

http://www.bryankategalat.blogspot.com/2008/06/raccoons.html

The Galat Family Blog. Thursday, June 5, 2008. You would think we lived on a 20 acre farm or something instead of a quiet suburban neighborhood. We now have raccoons inhabiting a tree in our backyard (about 30-40 feet up in a hollowed out part). This freaks me out! Bryan and I counted at least 3 of them and we watched them popping in and out of the tree. Have they been there all along? Why did we just find out they were there? Posted by Kate G. The Galat Family Blog: We're here!

http://www.bryankategalat.blogspot.com/2008/07/were-here.html

The Galat Family Blog. Wednesday, July 9, 2008. We were also surprised that he wasn't found at a local restaurant, grocery store, or dumpster - his usual places of interest. So, now it's back to the leash for old Bob. Invisible fence looks better every day:). K in the fall and we're anxiously awaiting her class placement to see if she'll have the same lovely set of teachers that Riley had. Reese also attended a camp recently with other 3 year olds. I wish I'd had my camera with me the 2 nd. It was fun to...

The Galat Family Blog: Milestones...

http://www.bryankategalat.blogspot.com/2008/06/milestones.html

The Galat Family Blog. Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Again, way too long since I've written anything on this site. As I mentioned in a previous post, Riley turned 5 in May! I can't believe how big she has gotten compared to the sweet 1 year old I remember! On another note, it is starting to get HOT here! Yes, Connecticut does get pretty steamy over the summers. We are going to be away this weekend and the forecast is that on Sunday we'll see the 90 degree mark! I wish we had central air now! Posted by Kate G.

The McFadden Family Blog: Camping Inside

http://chrisandjennymcfadden.blogspot.com/2012/04/camping-inside.html

The McFadden Family Blog. Raising two munchkins in Atlanta. Monday, April 16, 2012. We had planned to hike this afternoon with our friends, but the sky threatened thunderstorms. So we made lemonade out of lemons and camped inside! The sleeping lasted about 5 minutes. They're currently trying to "shoot some deers for dinner" with Dex's ray gun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We have 4 rules in our house:. 1 Tell the truth. 2 Respect Others (including animals). 3 Take care of our things.

The McFadden Family Blog: September 2014

http://chrisandjennymcfadden.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

The McFadden Family Blog. Raising two munchkins in Atlanta. Saturday, September 13, 2014. I'm reviving the old blog to write down my new favorite trail spaghetti recipe. The kids are finally old enough to really hit the trail, so we're switching into backpacking mode. Turns out buying those fancy ready made meals for a family of 4 is expensive, and my kids don't often like the flavors offered. So I decided to try my hand at making my own lightweight, nutritious trail food. On how to work with the bags.

The McFadden Family Blog: July 2011

http://chrisandjennymcfadden.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

The McFadden Family Blog. Raising two munchkins in Atlanta. Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Mission Accomplished: House Painted. Remember when the house looked like this? And then like this? Now it looks like this! I know you all probably can't tell from my lame photography, but we got the house painted! The existing paint was peeling, and it had been 8 years since it's last coat, which is about the life of an exterior paint job in New England. So we hired Richard Allen. And I realize, anyone who is still both...

The McFadden Family Blog. Raising two munchkins in Atlanta. Monday, January 23, 2012. I was so excited to discover on Amazon that you can now buy a hardcover complete set of all of Jill Barklem's series on Brambly Hedge for a mere $20. Do you know these stories? They have the best, intricate illustrations coupled with the sweetest "just enough adventure" stories for my preschoolers. I think early elementary aged children will love them too. They are wonderful for both boys and girls. The highlight this y...

The McFadden Family Blog. Raising two munchkins in Atlanta. Thursday, September 22, 2011. I'll have to change my tagline soon to "Raising two munchkins in Atlanta", because we're moving in 2 weeks! While still "far" from my family, we'll be a much more reasonable 8 hour drive vs. 16 hour drive. Boston, Cambridge, MIT, CTK Cambridge, thank you for so many great friends, memories and meals. It's been a great ride! Tuesday, September 6, 2011. They came this morning with a swat team of guys and a giant crane...

The McFadden Family Blog. Raising two munchkins in Atlanta. Friday, February 10, 2012. Frankie's 5th Birthday Party. My baby girl is turning 5! Her actual birthday is Sunday, but we had her "friends" party today at 2 Crafty Chicks. A local art studio that has art classes for kids and also hosts birthday parties. We had a blast! Since I didn't have to clean my house, I had time to make this cake (and for the record, my house is still rather messy, but that cake was way fun to make! Happy Birthday to you!

The McFadden Family Blog. Raising two munchkins in Atlanta. Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Is it Chrismas yet? But wow, we've had a time of it this year! We started Christmas off in Knoxville at Great Gammie's house. We went to the Festival of Trees with Mimi. The kids made ornaments, got their faces painted, and rode a carousel, all to benefit the local Children's hospital. There was a pretty impressive gingerbread house contest there too. This was my favorite:. And Dex replied enthusiastically, "A present!
