A Spring Awakening in Paris
http://www.bryanpirolli.com/2015/03/a-spring-awakening-in-paris.html
Studying at the Sorbonne. Friday, March 20, 2015. A Spring Awakening in Paris. Parisian florists do their best work in the spring. Goodbye dark grey velvet skies and 4PM sunsets and hello spring. Every March 20th we celebrate as if it were the first spring we ever encountered. The sins of winter are forgiven and Paris will soon be at its best. We'll all shake off the sleepiness of the winter and step outside and enjoy the prospects of warm temperatures and some. Play this in the background. Easter is pri...
Parisian Favorites
http://www.bryanpirolli.com/p/parisian-favorites.html
Studying at the Sorbonne. So for 2015, so far, not much has changed:. Mmm Pink Flamingo Pizza. Currently for their amazingly affordable and perfect lunch menu. Because they made me a special dessert when I said I couldn't eat melon. For bo bun, great Cambodian food. 3 Le Refuge des Fondues. For ridiculous cheese fondue and wine in baby bottles - not for the fussy. Pizza with dried figs and Gorgonzola. 5 L'As du Fallafel. For, what else, Lenny Kravitz-approved fallafel. TOP PICK: Park Buttes Chaumont.
January 2015
http://www.bryanpirolli.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Studying at the Sorbonne. Friday, January 16, 2015. It’s funny how a silly green newspaper can mean so much. I don’t regularly do much at 6AM, on account of the sleeping and all, but this past week I couldn’t not. Get up early. I had a mission. Paris won’t go back to normal. What does normal even mean anyway? While the city will recover from the terrorist attacks on the weekly satirical publication Charlie Hebdo. It’s just not going to be the same here. The scar will stay. Posted by Bryan Pirolli. In Par...
April 2015
http://www.bryanpirolli.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Studying at the Sorbonne. Friday, April 24, 2015. Things Learned During a French PhD. Books, books, books everywhere. I’m halfway there – or at least I tell myself. Writing a doctoral thesis, and in a different language no less, is an experience that fortunately one need only do once in life. I’m thinking back to that time I told myself, “Yes, this is a good idea.” I’m sure I wasn’t sober. Have a drink. Two interviews transcribed? Time for a vacation. Posted by Bryan Pirolli. Private Tours
http://www.bryanpirolli.com/p/private-tours-with-bryan.html
Studying at the Sorbonne. If you’re coming to Paris, you’re going to have quite a few questions. How does the métro work? Where can I go out tonight? What are the best neighborhoods to visit? Who are those people with clipboards asking me for money outside of the Louvre? Where can I find a decent meal? Why does the coffee come in such small cups? It can seem overbearing. I've launched a tour service called The Gay Locals. A LGBT-friendly tour company that offers tours of Paris that just happen. And/or se...

Et Tu, Bessie?: March 2013
http://ettubessie.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Et Tu, Bessie? A blog about Lactose Intolerance. Sunday, March 10, 2013. The Lactose-Free Auto-Immune-Fighting Diet. I have been having health issues. My already-cranky immune system has suddenly become quite peevish and I have found myself in a battle with non-cancerous (but still annoying) salivary gland tumors, swollen surgical areas that refused to return to normal months after said surgery, the constant appearance of mouth ulcers and a general feeling of malaise and unease. Cooking the nightly meal ...

http://blog.savoirfaireparis.com/2015/03
Blog - Paris, Up Close and Personal. Monthly Archives: March 2015. Restaurant Round-Up Winter 2015. About Sasha and our wonderful team →. I must say, I have eaten very well since the beginning of the year! There have been some great new openings from American style Chinese food and comfort food brought to a new level of culinary sophistication to some great new modern French spots from already famed restauranteurs to a tiny and trendy Japanese hotspot and even a newcomer to the chic 16ème dining scene.
La Petite Ceinture | Paris Up Close & Personal
http://blog.savoirfaireparis.com/la-petite-ceinture
Blog - Paris, Up Close and Personal. About Samara and our wonderful team →. Is a Parisian secret known to few tourists, other than those who do their homework! What was once an abandoned railway has become an incredibly picturesque garden, below street level, circling the urban jungle that is Paris. Between the graffiti and and overgrown grass, La Petite Ceinture, or “little belt,” is way off the beaten path. 99 rue Olivier de Serres. In the 15th Arrondissement. This entry was posted in Guides. Wonderful...

Where is Bryan?
Studying at the Sorbonne. Thursday, March 15, 2018. Naples: I Miss My Bike. Cycling in Florence is a thing apparently. I feel shackled. Weighted down. Limited. Without my bike in Naples, I feel immobilized. The feeling of the wind on my face as I zoomed over Blackfriars Bridge in London has no equivalent in Naples. There is no rush as I submit to gravity from atop a hill, no excitement of swerving through traffic, no zooming to clear a busy intersection before the light turns red. Posted by Bryan Pirolli.
