Blue & White Long Sleeved Shirt | BryceTheSeamRipper
http://www.brycetheseamripper.com/2016/08/sewing-blue-white-long-sleeved-mens-shirt.html
Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Blue and White Long Sleeved Shirt. I sewed a long sleeve shirt again! My grandma found this beautiful fabric at JoAnns and I fell in love with it as soon as she brought it home and showed it to me. She did such a great job picking it out. Initially I was hesitant she wouldn't get something I liked, but she came through and did it well! The lighting was perfect for these photos! For some reason, we never get good back shots. But this is the back of the shirt, obviously! Sewing th...
Lavender Shirt + Selling Flowers at the Farmers Market | BryceTheSeamRipper
http://www.brycetheseamripper.com/2016/08/sewing-a-mens-lavender-shirt.html
Sunday, August 21, 2016. Lavender Shirt Selling Flowers at the Farmers Market. I sewed another shirt again! I sew many shirts because shirts are the reason I learned to sew. I love long sleeve shirts, but I'm extremely picky and that makes shopping quite hard. Instead of struggling to find some I like in the store, I just make my own - and have a blast doing it! I, of course, used McCall's M6044 again, which you are probably sick of by now. But don't worry! Tucking the shirt in! Those are always so hard ...

Black Robe + Bombing a Ben Franklin's Math Test | BryceTheSeamRipper
http://www.brycetheseamripper.com/2016/08/sewing-mens-robe.html
Thursday, August 25, 2016. Black Robe Bombing a Ben Franklin's Math Test. I finally completed the robe! I figured for my first robe and first time working with fleece I would just pick a solid color (and that color was black, obviously! So I switched patterns and used Easy McCall's 8524. The upper portion of the robe! Sewing, sewing, sewing! I don't quite remember what I was sewing here, but I do remember encountering one problem that was a bit annoying. If I accidentally messed up, seam ripping out ...
Black Floral Shirt from McCall's M6044 | BryceTheSeamRipper
http://www.brycetheseamripper.com/2016/07/sewing-mccalls-m6044-mens-floral-shirt.html
Sunday, July 31, 2016. Black Floral Shirt from McCall's M6044. I made another shirt from McCall's M6044 pattern! We sewed this shirt while Zach finally finished his first shirt (pictures coming soon! So I was constantly stopping to help Zach. It was completely worth it because now I have my boyfriend hooked on sewing. Couples who sew together stay together, haha! The front of the shirt really makes me happy. We bought this fabric on sale for 1.99 a yard. 1.99 a yard! Zach is already onto his second shirt...

Thin Man Sewing: June 2015
http://thinmansewing.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. I finished my McCall's 8971 pants rather quickly due to the fact they have an elastic waistband and simple front pockets. The rear pocket is a welt type with a flap. I liked this for the practice. I haven't made many of these. The shirt is tucked in to show the detail. Otherwise, I wear the shirt untucked. So, no elastic dress pants for me. Time for another project. Sunday, June 21, 2015. I say this, because I started the San Francisco Stitch Co. I also started a pair of pants ye...
Thin Man Sewing: March 2015
http://thinmansewing.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 17, 2015. This project and my last project will be great when it cools a little. Right now we are having record highs in the mid 70s in California. I ordered some blizzard-fleece from Joann's at a bargain price. I thought I would wait to use it, but decided I had a pattern and the time, so no time like the present. Butterick 5773 is called a jacket, but it is more like a sweater with a zipper. Can I call it a Swacket? Max supervising the cutting. I made lined pockets to put my hands in.
Thin Man Sewing: July 2015
http://thinmansewing.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. I decided to make Simplicity 1286 with some twill material I bought from Fabric.com. Also, I decided to move straight on to the final product without making a muslin. I did this because none of the reviews online mentioned sizing issues. I did add four inches to the length. This is normal for me. I have been almost following the directions. I finished the pockets with french seams, used flat-fell seams on the inside leg, and finished the fly to my liking. So, the jury is still ou...
Thin Man Sewing: February 2015
http://thinmansewing.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. My New Favorite Shirt Pattern. My new favorite shirt pattern is Simplicity 1544. It is a long-sleeve pattern with a separate button placket. I like shirts with this type of placket because it pops out and makes the shirt look dressy. I made no adjustments for length, which I usually add 2 inches to most patterns. This shirt is more casual though, not form fitting, but not too loose. It looks good tucked or untucked. A gross of buttons for $2.45 is quite a bargain. I bough Sim...
Thin Man Sewing: Summer Mystery Project Update
http://thinmansewing.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-mystery-project-update.html
Saturday, July 18, 2015. Summer Mystery Project Update. It is hard to believe it is already week six of an eight week project. Where is Summer going? San Francisco Stitch Co. Has been doing a great job supplying these weekly embroidery designs. They have been stitching out extremely nice. I have been using my Simplicity SE3 with the regular and the extended hoops to embroider the designs. This has been my first time using Sew What Pro. Here are weeks one through six:. July 19, 2015 at 5:19 PM. Seam Rippe...
Thin Man Sewing: Summer is getting closer.
http://thinmansewing.blogspot.com/2015/04/summer-is-getting-closer.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Summer is getting closer. The Simplicity 1948 shorts are getting closer to being ready. I have been doing a lot of topstitching. My singer 7470 hasn't let me down. I am surprised at how well it has been handling several layers of denim. I thought for sure I would have to use one of my vintage machines. Singer 6268 with embroidery attachment. Embroidery unit in action. TMS = ThinManSewing designer shorts. Time to finish the waistband and belt loops. April 22, 2015 at 12:04 PM.

Thin Man Sewing: Summer is here!
http://thinmansewing.blogspot.com/2015/05/summer-is-here.html
Sunday, May 10, 2015. Summer is here in California. It has been in the 80s all week. But then my photoshoot was delayed because we got two days of rain. That was great since we are in a terrible drought. Now it is shorts weather again, so I'll be wearing my designer shorts. The Simplicity 1948 pattern fits me great. I will have to make some pants with this pattern since I like the shorts I have made with it. I think the slanted front pockets are a nice touch. Jaime is thrilled, but needs a new top. I hav...

As written by Stacey .nothing too exciting or profound here. Saturday, October 25, 2014. It's been a while. I did love going back and reading some old posts though. A few things I had forgotten about or remembered a little differently from what really happened. I'd say though that the last year and half have been pretty eventful. I'm sure I can't remember all of it. Here's a quick summary of some of the biggest changes:. Monday, July 1, 2013. The Last 6 Months, apparently. After Christmas, Bryce and I ha...

Friday, September 9, 2016. Getting back up on my feet again. Hey all, sorry for this not being a sewing related post, and sorry for not putting one up recently. For some reason, I hit a hard place and I'm slowly pulling myself back up again. I'm still sewing (getting ready to start my first pair of pants), and I've even picked up cross stitching - which is very tedious, I must say! Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Blue and White Long Sleeved Shirt. I sewed a long sleeve shirt again! Sewing on the placket is alw...
