They were formed by sketching the designs and then the designs were scanned into the computer. They were then traced using the pen tool. They were formed using many different shapes. You can transform different objects in illustrator by clicking on a transform tool, then click and drag anywhere on the artboard. Andy Pate's Blog. Hard light is created using only one light source and creates dramatic pictures using shadows. Soft light doesnt create very many shadows since light is all around the subject.
