Wednesday, 16 July 2014. 16/07/2014 - Another nice perch along with a lovely pike. I had another few hours yesterday evening spent fishing the R.Trent with Ian. I myself was using the minnows/slashbait yet again with a few nice results. The tally for that session was 5 fish 3 of which were perch, 1 a pike and a small gudgeon! This Pike certainly liked my minnow as it gave a really good scrap on the Sakura Shinjin baitcast rod I have been using of late. Such beautiful markings on the pike.

Apart from being attacked constantly by horse flies during the morning, and then discovering at lunch my pasty I had left underneath the car to keep cool had been eaten. Wednesday, 11 June 2014. A few hours, a trio of fish and a whole lot learnt. It started off slow with only a few backlashes with the reel, but it didn't take long for my thumb to know what it was suppose to do (feathering the spool on a cast) whilst I was getting more accurate after each cast. I did struggle with anything around 7g but that'll be gotten to another time. For now I was only using my little alphabets and lipless baits that arrived back from Mark Houghton.
