Dance - BabyBeatz and JazzTotz - Other Styles. My name is Katherine Westwood. I was a secondary school teacher until opening my own dance instruction business. I’ve always danced and over the years I’ve learned many styles of dance and loved them all; ballet, modern jazz, contemporary, streetdance, freestyle, ballroom, Latin American and tap. Have you ever seen the hottest pop band's music video or performance on Top of the Pops? Then you will already know what Streetdance looks like. Streetdance takes any form of popular music - from pop to hip hop - and choreographs routines to the beats. We have seen that, only too often, the most successful pop acts have made it big by combining Streetdance routines with their tunes and lyrics. The term street dance or street dancing came later. KWDI - parties

Parties are available in various styles of dance and from 12 months up to adult. There are 2 main party packages, although feel free to contact Katherine Westwood Dance Instruction for specific requirements and individual quotes. 2) For a 45 minute routine taught within a party, the cost would be between 30 and 35 depending on distance to travel and number of children in the group. 930am -10.30am @ Wonderland Play Gym, Slaithwaite, 3 per child and 1 for siblings. 1000am -10.30am @Colne Valley Garden Centre, Scar Lane, Golcar/Milnsbridge. KWDI - freestyle cheer

Freestyle and Cheerleading is taught in the Holiday Dance Workshops which run every school holiday. Freestyle/disco is the trendiest and most popular form of dance in the UK today. In involves runs, spins, kicks and leaps as well as many other diverse steps and movements with lots of different arm and hand actions. Click here for Workshop Photos. Summer Holiday Dance Workshops. Thursday 4th and 25th August 9.30am-3pm. Magical Forest Play Gym. Half-day, no play gym is 10 per child). We will learn fun, short routines in various styles of dance - street, cheer, etc - , cheer stunts, play games and make new friends! In the afternoon we will have some time in the play gym too!
