The mission of the Tuscarora Council and Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Tuscarora Council proudly serves more than 8,000 youth and adult volunteers in Duplin, Johnston, Sampson and Wayne Counties of eastern North Carolina. FAQ About Cub Scouts. Order of the Arrow. The Tuscarora Council offers a variety of youth development programs. They include traditional Scouting programs such as Cub Scouts (boys in first through fifth grade) and Boy Scouts (young men ages 11-17). We also offer Venturing, a co-ed adventure based program for young men and women ages 14-20. In addition to these programs, the Council also has an Order of the Arrow (OA) lodge,which is a camping and community-service based honor society.

As one of the ten methods used in training our youth, camping will always be a fundamental building block of the Scouting program. Along with National camping opportunities, every Council has it's own BSA camp facility. Tuscarora Council has two properties for the use of camping:. We are the Tuscarora Council! In 1923, the Goldsboro Rotary Club and a group of citizens in Smithfield and Kinston started what would eventually become the Tuscarora Council of the Boy Scouts of America. During that time, the organization served 474 boys through 24 troops in Duplin, Greene, Wayne, Johnston and Lenoir counties. Our council now serves Duplin, Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne Counties. The Sanchez Fabulous Five. Saturday, December 12, 2009. Lilly Grace at 7 Months. It's hard to believe that my baby girl is already 7 months and getting ready for her first Christmas! She is growing by leaps and bounds, and amazes us each and every day. Since my last entry, she has learned, tried, and experienced so many new and wonderful things. She can sit up completely on her own and thinks that she is such a big girl! She loves the world from this vertical view! Lilly is also on the move (sort of)!
