We know that grief following the loss of a much loved animal companion can be every bit as intense as that experienced following the loss of a partner, parent, relative or close friend. There is no right, wrong or typical way of coping with the shattering. Experience of losing a loved one. As we long for what we have lost, at times our lives can seem quite meaningless. Gradually, however, and in our own time, we can learn a new way of living, in which there is sadness but where there can be joy and happiness too.
