going places: Venice
http://ppgoingplaces.blogspot.com/2013/09/venice.html
Wednesday, 4 September 2013. What better ending to our Europe trip than Venice. When you think you've seen just about everything Venice reminds you that you haven't! The train crosses from the mainland through the lagoon area and out you pop, right in the thick of it. Venice is incredibly popular tourist attraction, catering for an average of 50,000 tourists a day! I don't know what the 270,000 permanent residents would think of that! We found the San Marco Piazza. And then wandered some more. It’s...

going places: What next?
http://ppgoingplaces.blogspot.com/2013/10/what-next.html
Friday, 11 October 2013. What to do with this blog? It's been a big part of my life for the last 15 months and I already miss the idea that the adventure is over and that this won't continue, at least in it's current format anyway. And for that reason I'd like to keep on blogging. The posts won't be as exciting, the scenery not so stunning, but the people will be the same and this time round we'll be doing normal family day stuff. Watch this space J. going places: Verona
http://ppgoingplaces.blogspot.com/2013/09/verona.html
Tuesday, 3 September 2013. Verona has its own Colloseum, it's not as big as the one in Rome, but it's older, is in better condition and is still used today. But that's not all this ancient walled city has to offer. It is also the setting for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and there is even a residence on exhibit that is claimed to be Juliet's home, complete with the famed balcony. Middle Right - Juliet's house and balcony. Miss Vicki I'll be happy, just like Miss M below. 6 September 2013 at 01:18. It...

sew.knit.laugh.love.: Yummiest cookies EVER
http://sewknitlaughlove.blogspot.com/2012/03/yummiest-cookies-ever.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. We've had half a block of dark cooking chocolate sitting in the fridge for several weeks. If it was real chocolate it would've disappeared in a flash but none of us really fancy cooking chocolate. Funny that. So when I saw a recipe for chocolate chip cookies using dark cooking chocolate on Nannette's blog. After the first failure we decided to make some more and I'm glad we did. These are the yummiest cookies EVER. And this is how you make them:. 125 grams softened butter. Some b...

sew.knit.laugh.love.: Operation house beautification
http://sewknitlaughlove.blogspot.com/2012/03/operation-house-beautification.html
Friday, March 2, 2012. March is operation house beautification month. Our house is currently (still! A shambles. In September we moved all the furniture out of our main living area so that the old ugly tiles could be removed and new timber flooring could be installed. The furniture was moved to the hallway, the back veranda, a corner of the kitchen and Erin's room. Get a spare minute. But the walls won't paint themselves. So we will be painting them during operation house beautification. And there is som...

sew.knit.laugh.love.: Goodbye Brown
http://sewknitlaughlove.blogspot.com/2012/03/goodbye-brown.html
Sunday, March 11, 2012. We've lived in this house for nearly 6 years now and although I didn't realise it when we bought it, there is a whole lot of brown and a whole lot of beige going on. I don't do brown or beige. It didn't bother us at the time. Infact we were quite pleased that everything was neutral and we didn't have to 'fix' anything. But over time (and especially since we've decided we're not moving. I have really started to dislike the brown and the beige. And not in a house I just like. March ...

Kcw spring 2011: day three. May 11th, 2011. Anyway, the skirt. I wanted to do it in a dark shirting fabric (sort of like my dress). But the fabric store was cleaned out when I went. So I used this cotton seersuckery stripe. The pattern is from another Japanese pattern book I love, Everyday Bottoms. So no brain sweat for you. Turns out the skirt is actually a little long to require shorts underneath, but hey, now I know how to do it. And it’s not hard! 4 top and trousers. Check out the flickr group. I agr...

Monday, 25 November 2013. Commitment that is. And it is what I don't have at the moment! Hang my head in shame. Especially after (if I may be so bold) my BRILLIANTLY ON FIRE performance with blog number one. But - I have had a wake up call, not one, not two but three, yes THREE calls hinting for more. I am feeling the love - or at the very least a mild interest. Ps - And you - young Jesse Pinkman - I'm on to you. I would normally insert an in-context swearword here but Mum might be reading and anyone...
