Thursday, February 02, 2006. 1 The saxaphone was invented by Adolphe Sax in 1846 in Belgium. Said, "I think that the reason the Saxaphone is rare in orchestra performances is because it is very upbeat and contemporary." He nailed it on da head. He is totally correct. 3 Someone would think the the saxaphone is a brass instrument because the instrument is actually made of brass. Posted by buckwheat at 6:00 AM. View my complete profile. Thursday, December 15, 2005. 1 My favorite website was SFS Kids. Thuis website is my favorite because it is fun to play its games and learn about things. It is also gives information clearly and it is easy to find things. 1Where do the woodwind players sit. The woodwind players usually sit together in the middle of the orchestra pit. They sit in this order from left to right: Flutes and Piccolos, Clarinets, Oboes, and last but not least Bassoons. You can find this at DSO. This is the last post for 2005.

Jazzzercise: November 2005

http://jazzzercise.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 10, 2005. WATRAS' QUESTION ON THE OBOE AND ENGLISH HORN. Mr Watras does not like the definition that Hayley Iben gives because it does not say that a woodwind has a complex airstream. One of the first ancestors of the English horn was the Shawm. The English horn was not originally created in England, it was created by the Hotteterre. The English horn is longer than the Oboe and makes a deeper sound and lower pitched than the Oboe.
