Legislation and our political challenges - breaking news. The Councils of each Rural Municipality around the South Basin hold regular council meetings to discuss the issue of the day and pass resolution in response to these issues. The minutes of the various Municipal Councils are provide on this site. Click here. Thus, the voices of lakefront owners and other property owners who believe in private property rights have been eliminated.

There are a multitude of examples. Of ongoing shoreline erosion around the south basin of Lake Winnipeg. The weather bomb of October 2010 did a tremendous amount of damage to the beach areas. A primary member would be an individual over 18 that owns or resides on property which is considered Lakefront. Lakefront properties share one boundary that is directly adjacent to the water or a public reserve that is directly adjacent to the water. Primary members have voting rights of two votes per lakefront property.

Acknowledge and respect that community property rights exist and as such community input is required to utilize community owned land in support of a privately constructed project.
