Well, maybe not a total newbie, I am familiar with changing tires and cables, adjusting gears, and pretty confident with disassembling and putting a bike back together. Tuesday, March 13, 2012. The Crankset Part 1. Getting the Right Tools For the Crankset. One thing I noticed is the 45t chainring is literally less than 1 mm away from the chainstay, on my SOMA Juice. Well not quite, but less than 1mm of clearance. The chainline of 42.7mm (see techdocs above) is really getting close to sawing the chainstay on the frame. Sunday, August 13, 2017. I've been changing my rosters lately. Don't get me wrong, I love all my bikes, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten them in the first place. Bikes I no longer own:. Trek Sawyer (Gold) - Love it. It's much lighter than I thought. Sold it because it's too nice of a bike to be ridden and taken abuse. Surly Long Haul Trucker 26" - My plan was to bike to SoCal (from NorCal), but due to my current situation, I'll have to take a rain check and it's not a fun commuter; therefore, I sold it.
