Chore Charts! | Everything Beautiful
http://audreysimmons.blogspot.com/2014/02/chore-charts.html
Life in all its times. It's been a while. Recently, we've started chore charts in the Simmons household and I wanted to post about it. We were sort of in a post-holiday slump and the boys were doing hardly anything except drifting from one play-activity to another, with an admittedly daily dose of Netflix thrown in. I listened to a recent Raising Playful Tots. So, in practice, how does this work with three-year-olds? I wanted a chart that they could "read" for themselves, even though I'd be helping them ...

WV Urban Hippies: Will they ever stop eating?!
http://wvurbanhippie.blogspot.com/2015/06/will-they-ever-stop-eating.html
Things I Think About. Will they ever stop eating? Let me introduce you to my bottomless pits:. I think they had a planning meeting a couple of months ago to see what would be the quickest way to eat me out of house and home. And from the results, it was a very successful meeting. Every time I turn around we're out of bread, milk and eggs. And apparently lunch meat has a 2.2 second shelf life in this house. I honestly wonder if they're eating it as they put away groceries. So, what to do? Giant bag of ke...

April 2013 | Everything Beautiful
http://audreysimmons.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Life in all its times. Archive for April 2013. Picking up the Playroom. I was in the kitchen this morning and heard a noise that sounded like Duplos being dumped out- and I knew there were already little Legos all over the rug. Fortunately for today, the noise was just another toy being moved and we didn't have a huge mess to pick up (or a "big and big and big" mess, as the boys say to mean gigantic). And it's the big things that go first. For me, that was self-injury and porn. Big stuff. The...There's a...

On Marrying Somebody | Everything Beautiful
http://audreysimmons.blogspot.com/2012/08/on-marrying-somebody.html
Life in all its times. We ended up talking about that idea specifically relating to how guys behave in dating relationships, but I've been thinking about it more and more today and it really works both ways. So, I wanted to type some of what we talked about up for my siblings. I have six siblings, all younger, and only one is married. Four of the others are old enough (by my parents' standards) to date. This is for you guys- and our youngest brother, for when he gets to this point. Dear Guire Kids,.

June 2015 | Everything Beautiful
http://audreysimmons.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Life in all its times. Archive for June 2015. Late night thoughts on larping. So, this conversation happened earlier and I laughed until I cried. Me: LARP seems like a geek thing but I have a theory that it's really education. Because homeschoolers graduate and are like, man, what am I going to do with these military strategy and leather working skills mom let me work on for extra credit. Hunter: hahahhaha when the zombie apocalypse comes. Cause lets be realistic here. Newer Posts →. 8592; Older Posts.

So much for that last post... | Everything Beautiful
http://audreysimmons.blogspot.com/2010/11/so-much-for-that-last-post.html
Life in all its times. So much for that last post. All that writing about discipline and I haven't posted since February. :) But now I'm even more determined to write semi-regularly, at least. Maybe if I write frequently enough I can weed out my bad habit of punctuating nearly everything with emoticons. What's my life look like nine months later? I love them to pieces. We named them Théoden and Samuel, but they go by Theo and Sam (or bug or bear or fussbucket or any other host of fond nicknames). My mom ...

Life in all its times. Archive for October 2013. Tom Swift and His Rocket Ship is our evening read aloud and their oral story is usually either a story about them going into space and visiting planets or is the story of creation. I found the planets here : http:/ s3.amazonaws.com/PCPC/solar-system-01.jpg. We've also watched For All Mankind. About the lunar missions over at Hulu and we've watched this NASA video about the Mars Rover Curiosity a few times. What a powerful God we serve! Newer Posts →. Its b...

Good Dreams | Everything Beautiful
http://audreysimmons.blogspot.com/2013/05/good-dreams.html
Life in all its times. Sam has been talking a lot about his dreams recently, from pleasant ones to scary ones (three blue moons in the bedroom! He just woke up from a nap and came into the kitchen exclaiming,. God made that train track for you! You, in this case, pretty much means "me," as he still gets those mixed up. That must have been an awesome dream, son. Doesn't God love you so well? Posted by Audrey M.G. Simmons. So much for that last post. Why My Kids Don't Know They're Smart. The Gospel for Kids.
