Maintenance is almost done! | Building Our Dream

The house was easy … the pool is a bit more stressful! Maintenance still not finished… →. Maintenance is almost done! June 15, 2012. I mentioned in a post a little while back that we were going through the maintenance period, as a result of our 13 week inspection. We’re still waiting on a few things to be done, but we’re almost there! So far, we have had all the fiddly little things done – repairs to nicks and chips in the walls, loose door handles, sticky pop-up plugs, rough carpet edges, etc etc. And t...

Maintenance still not finished…. Final occupancy certificate, pools and puppies! An update on the pool. July 10, 2012. There isn’t one. Hint: apparently timber decking must be 900mm off the boundary fences. There goes that idea of a nice timber feature at the end of the pool… If only the council websites had more detailed information, life would be so much easier! On a brighter note however, we do now have boundary fences, which also means we have some privacy! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Re-thinking my ...

The house was easy … the pool is a bit more stressful! 13 week maintenance inspection. March 14, 2012. Holy cow Batman, we’ve had our 13 week inspection! Can’t believe we’ve been in our new home for almost 4 months. It really didn’t take long for us to feel like we were ‘at home’, and we have settled in so well. One thing that we are 100% certain of is that the house doesn’t leak! Joking, honestly…). Wisdom, as always, were extremely efficient in their dealings with us regarding the maintenance inspectio...

Wisdom Home in Shell Cove (Manhattan 38). Our experience building a Wisdom Home Manhattan 38 Ensuite. Monday, 8 August 2011. Daniel from DRH landscaping came down and scrapped out the driveway and prepaid the alfresco ready for the concrete. He was such a nice guy and didn't hesitate to help you out. We told him how hard it was to get concretors out for a quote and said, 'No problem I will give you a price now and have it done before you move in'. Job solved. Highly recommended! Sunday, 19 September 2010. Our second last piece of hardscaping was completed yesterday - our south side passage. We decided on a decomposed granite (DG) path. It's a fairly straight forward project - except for moving the amount of raw materials required! We used a string line and level to determine the final height of the DG - on the house was easy - the level was the unpainted top of the slab. The fence line was more diffcult - I used a marker to measure on the fence. Dropped by for moral support!

Looking down the 7th hole. I love this shot with the steam coming off the bunkers. Tuesday, 29 June 2010. Winter has really arrived with force with our first below zero night. The view down the 8th from our upstairs balcony. It was so cold that condensation on dark coloured roofs has iced over (this roof is Woodland Grey!
